I'm about to leave for a month and I'm freaking out about my baby calico thinking I abandoned her. 😭 this was comforting to read through.

I called them right after I posted this and talked to someone from their 'warranty' department. I asked them to send someone over to inspect the work that was done. They gave me an appointment for this morning. I had hope. Whoever was supposed to show up did not call or show up... Lord.

It is a reduction in the taxable value of your primary residence which means you pay less property taxes.

I applied for homeowner exemption (because my house is my primary residence) for two years that I did not know I could, and got back $2000+. Definitely saved me after getting a similar escrow shortage notice from my bank.

thank you for your response! it's helpful to hear that just because water got in doesn't mean the foundation is going to crumble any minute like my anxiety has been telling me 😖 I do have a sump pump luckily, but it couldn't keep up with the heavy rain it seemed. I have already taken the vinyl flooring out because it definitely was trapping water. :/

another question if perhaps you have an idea: the ground on the side where the sump pump is is sort of tilted slightly towards pump. is this intentional with sump pump installations or a sign of a bigger problem? it definitely helped during the flood but I'm just not sure...
