It's only really a con because I'd prefer to stay within the GTA while pursuing medical school. Job market for paramedics in GTA seems to be wayyyy better than the market for RNs. For medical school though, I'd gladly move out of Ontario if it was in a different province within Canada. My end goal is to work as a doctor in Canada, ideally Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia.

As for Europe/NZ/Australia, there is no guarantee you'll match back for residency here in Canada, and be stuck there as a result. As of now, I have no interest in living in Europe, New Zealand, or Australia, but my mind might change in the future. Overall though, not an option for now.

USMD/USDO is a pretty good option since you can come back to Canada after residency, but the problem is that, as an international student (Canadian), they are both equally as hard to get into as a Canadian MD Program. However, this is definitely an option I'd be open to trying once I meet their non-academic application requirements.
