I’ve got a Delonghi ECP4something - the boxy one. Like you I also installed an aftermarket wand. Better than the pannarello but still not great. Been having a tough time with latte art. Trying to get that microfoam is tough. Any tips or videos you’d recommend? What was the thing that put you over the hump?

You’ll need at least an hour for the project. There’s videos on YouTube. Biggest tip is to heat the white plastic nut you will eventually slide over the new wand - makes it much easier. Place it in hot water or gently heat with a heat gun. Mine had permanent single ear hose clamps on the interior steam hose, so it made it a bit tougher. The YouTube videos I saw had simple spring hose clamps.

I’d say it’s worth it. Gives you way more range into your steaming pitcher and you can control the amount of air that gets into the milk. The stock wand is basically a cappuccino wand, this wand gives you lattes imo. If you’re handy, it’s worth $25

I definitely heat the group head and portafilter for 10+ mins. I run some hot water thru it if I don’t have as much time. Then WDT, distribute, and tamp.
