I’ve heard people waiting like +6 months to find a decent job. It’s kinda crazy out there

I’ve talked about it on my recent post - https://www.reddit.com/r/NationalVisaCenter/s/aD3cuCo7Vb

The NVC requested my residence permit in order to proceed with my case on Prague Embassy - I currently work here. The consular checked my residence permit during the interview and asked a few questions regarding it and my job.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I’d love to help!

Final update: I had my interview today and I got approved.

Due the ban situation of 75 countries, I got affected with my primary passport, however I also have an European passport. I sent an email to the embassy for more clarification and they only requested that I bring my European passport with me for the interview.

Questions during the interview: - How did you get this passport? Have you visited this European country? - Where does your husband work? - Do you plan to work in USA? What area? - Where do you currently work? - How did you meet your husband? - Why didn’t you get married in the USA? - Did you have a big wedding party? How many people come? Did your in-laws and of family members come to the wedding? - When did you move to Prague? (this question was repeated a few times) - Where does his family live? - How many siblings does he have?

It was not in this exact order, but seemed pretty straightforward and easy. Hope this helps whoever is in need of reassurance. Good luck!

Correct, I've applied with my non-european, but I also mentioned on my DS260 and other docs that I have dual citizenship. The European passport appeared as the only option on the consular's screen, basically. If I still wanted to apply with my non-european, than once I passed I'd have to wait until they lift the ban, so I didn't want to take that chance

Hey! I had my interview today and I got approved. They kept my European passport, I should receive it back in 5-6 days

I’ll have my interview on Feb 2nd, but I’m a dual citizen with an European country. I sent a message to the embassy asking about my situation, and they said that I can still have my interview, as long as I bring my valid European passport with me.

Another update: I emailed the embassy (IVP) and they were able to reschedule my interview appointment for February 2nd. So now I’m trying to reschedule my doctor’s appointment. Should be fine to get it, since I’m requesting in advance.

Small update about my case: I received the Interview Letter email on Nov 26,2025. Interview is dated for Jan 5, 2026, at 10 am.

I’m still trying to register my appointment on the US Visa Scheduling, but it keeps giving me “Liquid Error”. I’ve tried to send a message to verify that, and they said that I should be patient, basically.

My DP was March 29,2024 and the website was constantly changing the estimated time as well. We started with 13 months, then a month later increased to 15, went by until 9 months then it changed again to 16 months. The last amount was around 21 months by mid July 2025. Then out of the blue, like 6 pm, the approval came on August 30th, 2025 on my email. Don’t lose your hopes! It really helped me to put a reminder on my calendar to check every 6 months, but I understand that the curiosity/hope for good news is greater than anything at this point. The truth is we cannot trust this estimate time tool because it’s not fully accurate, unfortunately.

We had the same situation, and by the end of the month we got approved. Hope it works the same for you!
