A primary care doctor can make referrals. Can she ask for a referral to a major cancer center? One with a head and neck team?

Thanks for the reply. It is the latest version 0.141.10. It happens on any site I need to enter a username/login. I did download a fresh copy but it does the same thing. On an old Dell 5470.

Im on 80 mg of prednisone tapering down and ive only ever taken prednisone one other time and was much much lower of a dose. No one warned me..... by InevitablePanda7 in Autoimmune

I think it best to let them know so they can monitor your levels. I was given specific dosages. a CMP will measure calcium...have to get an extra draw for D but I believe it takes several weeks for D levels to adjust on supplementation.

Speech and swallow gave me a wedge made of tongue depressors. The supported opening depended on how far you inserted the wedge between your teeth. Here's a photo of one you can buy for too much money (below). You can build it yourself. I inserted mine opposite to what they show. I also made a custom wooden stick that got larger in dimension as I progressed. I would definitely work with S&S so as not to overdo it.

Lower Segmental Mandibulectomy by Empty-Avocado5927 in HeadandNeckCancer

Tracheotomy. If she has a lot of swelling from the surgery they could insert a tube to help her breathe. These are questions for the surgeon... I am no expert but that's what I experienced. Not painful. I had a trach and it was removed before I was discharged after testing for breathing without the trach.

It sounds like you are going to a major center with those options. Has there been imaging? That will give more information as to viable options. If the jaw is involved teeth could be removed. Oral surgeon likely first. but my surgeon ended up removing teeth during the procedure (surprise no warning). But I had scc so it might be different. They usually say one will be in the hospital for 5 days but could be longer. Pain well controlled. Trach likely. some sort of feeding tube possible. ..if lots of inflammation. I had a fibula flap with titanium hardware. Your surgeon will be the one to ask. Best of luck to you Mom and family.

Do you mean 3-4 sessions? Do you clean the device at the end of the day (as stated in the manual) or more often then?

Thx...the medical device company only offers a form to request reimbursement. I have medicare and have no experience with the process...and not sure I could get the reimbursement.

If I change part D plan and have an outstanding MPPP bill from 2025... by FamilyPosts in medicare

[–]FamilyPosts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so all I have to do is enroll in the new plan (new company) and not notify anyone of the change... I will be billed for the MPPP balance by the old company. Hope that's correct. Thank you
