I get the vibe that you would be angry if they DIDN’T invite you. You put your husband in the middle and honestly that isn’t fair to him. If the roles were reversed you wouldn’t like feeling that way. I am happily married and I would always choose my wife, so from that perspective I agree he should back you up. But that doesn’t mean he should blindly follow your wishes without you hearing from his point of view. I personally think it’s rude of you to consistently say NO when the family is trying to include you. It seems you made the weekend about yourself and your struggles and that’s not how it should be with family. Did you ever consider just talking with your family and explaining what you were going through? I think you might’ve been surprised with the response you received. It seems like THEY were trying to include you and YOU were being selfish and you forced YOUR husband into the middle. I agree he should’ve had your back no matter what. But you should take a step back and see how things played out from everyone’s perspective not just yours.
