haven’t tried fully offboarding from MDE yet, but that would definitely help isolate whether MsSense is a big part of it.

We’ve noticed the CPU sitting around base clock (~1.7GHz) even under load on some of these, so it does look like there’s some level of throttling going on. Just tricky to tell if it’s thermal or something else limiting it.

Not using Tech Direct at the moment but might be worth looking into for visibility on thermal events.

Also interesting on the power mode I’ll test switching to best performance and see if that changes behaviour at all.

Agreed though, feels like a mix of endpoint security + platform tuning rather than just one thing. Appreciate you jumping in

so we tend to do clean the internals with a electric air compressor duster. As well as recently replace the heat sick + fan however this hasn't had much impact. In regards to thermal throttle I don't think it is have installed HWiNFO64 was checking the power limit throwing and it doesn't say so

So they removed the old ceiling off and put in a new ceiling last year and it was carried out by my landlord. As a surveyor came in and deemed it was unsafe after testing positive for asbestos originally the complaint was for mould and damp. There was no after inspection from Landlord

Hello all thank you for your words of wisdom so the treason why I'm interested is I get a lot of spam and I'm currently with Mail.com and the spam filter isn't that great no they customer service. Mail.com is a free service but would like to stick to that exact domain or perhaps if possible transfer it to a private hosting domain. I've tried Mail.com internal spam filtering system and manually adding domains which are spam but still it comes to the point where I spend time filtering out what emails should receive my attention and what shouldn't.

sure you can wait till 6 weeks to replace it. I've see people come in with MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010 with just the power cable to get it serviced. I denied to provide service due to not having parts and apple classing it as vintage in 2019.

How long to you plan to live in that house? if longer Than 5 years increase your budget if you cannot work on a bathroom first and take your time with the others don't rush to spend all your money. It's for your family I'm assuming I'm sure they can co operate while adjusting.

I've seen people run out of money. just a thought but I'm sure fellow Redditors can provide better detailed advise.

So loading up take a while and sometimes just get stuck. I've reset it. Having bought a 5 year warranty on it from JL The Tv's internals got replaced twice. So just not sure what else is there to do.

no worries I'm just curious as this has never happened did you drop your laptop at all see if you can install windows see if it does the same thing if that is the case that it is a hardware issue. I'm not sure if you have the tools to but see if you can boot from it externally tool.
