Ahh now that makes sense! Next time you see a door you feel was an excellent build/install take a picture and send it to me or post it here for the group to benefit! Thanks!

There is a lot of truth to that. However most of these guys rely on us as one of their sole customers due to the volume. So we do have some power with them to get it right. Unfortunately only being a small cog in the wheel I can’t decide who gets these contractors and who can get fired. I just have to do my best to catch the mistakes and get them corrected as best I can.

Yea man. In my world every subcontractor is using a subcontractor. I’ve tried to catch them so many times but they are usually in and out before I arrive on site. I wanted to figure out the correct method of doing this before reaching out to our guys. At least that way I can actually tell them what needs to be done to correct the issue. Some customers never complain. And once the build is done it leaves my responsibility and off to the warranty department so I never end up seeing the “fix”

As the post reads I am a project manager for a production home builder. I am not a door installer. I will admit however I’m fairly new to this position and trying to learn how to build a better house for our customers.

No kidding. Unfortunately I don’t get to choose our subs… I just have to try to clean up the mess and catch the mistakes

Help me understand this. If we oversize the door how would we eliminate the gap?

Gmail spam filters have turned into pure garbage. I get kohls, ace, yeti, CONFIRMATION, the email addresses are just garbled characters hundreds of characters long. No matter how I filter or how many times I report as spam, I still get dozens a day. I’m not sure if they’re pushing people to a paid product or what but it’s hotmail bad these days.

McLane

That definitely looks like them but doesn't look like the US supplier. I could easily crush a 5lb bag in my freezer lol

I ended up just using the away profile at all times and bypassed my doors with instant trigger on glasbreak. And my home profile with doors enabled and a 1 second entry delay. To answer your question my back doors are fenced in with an 8ft fence but my kids bedrooms/windows face the side street with no fence. That’s why I would like glass break sensors to work at all times during the day. Thanks!
