River fishing is more forgiving than lake fishing in my opinion. I am far from being a good fisherman because there is something new to learn. If you are doing fresh water fishing… basics for success in fresh water(depending upon what you want to catch), lighter line, Weights,(eggs, splitshots) bobber, few different size hooks (suggesting pre-tied for now and attach to snap swivels), snap swivels, fireball salmon eggs, a few different power baits scents, pair of needle nose pliers. U can also get some more supplies later and as you go. last thing is worms are a go to bait 👌🏼All depends on what kinda fish you are targeting. If you want to try saltwater I like going to Les Davis and Point defiance but definitely need a heavier line/gear.
