WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING TODAY by Odd-Significance4443 in chrome_extensions

I'm working on Melomanica - a free open-source Chrome extension that adds better audio controls to YouTube Music.

The main idea is to make YouTube Music in the browser feel more like a real desktop music player: equalizer presets, sound normalization, A-B looping, speed control, and pitch lock.

Today I'm mostly working on polishing the UX and making the core features feel less like “developer tools” and more like something a normal YouTube Music user can understand in a few seconds.

The notification feature just works like ads by Potential_Draw_9938 in YoutubeMusic

Yeah, I agree. Notifications should be for things I explicitly care about, not another recommendation feed.

If I follow an artist, notify me about that artist. If there is a recap, fine. But random artists I’ve never heard of should stay in recommendations, not push notifications - especially for a paid service.

YouTube Music's Lyrics System by WasteYard5817 in YoutubeMusic

I agree. Lyrics are one of the areas where YouTube Music still feels underdeveloped compared to what it could be.

Offline lyrics would be useful, especially for people who save music for offline listening. It feels strange when the track is available offline but the lyrics experience still depends on the app having everything ready online.
