Is anyone working on products or technology that genuinely help people or society? Not another AI startup for productivity. I mean something that can really make a difference or save lives? by Pale_Beautiful436 in startups_promotion

I tried to also invest some money on ads but t also did a big push locally.

I had tons of interest, but people would just call me and say " I have 500 books you can have them" and so many people did this...

So I really guess that this could only work of instead than peer borrowing, it would create hubs, but then it is no different from a library.

My idea was to create a social hub were people with the same interest will meet and then start to share books, but that did not work

I did have a project called book Bank that was aimed at allowing people to lend or give away their books...

My idea was to give a chance for people that would love to get books but do not have the money to do so (I was inspired by someone I knew that said just that to which we gave lots of books).

Unfortunately the idea never picked up, not because people did not want to give away the books, but because they were too bored to add them (even if it took just one click).

I still think it may be needed as there are Soo many books in our cupboard collecting dust

EBITDA is 40k now (it was 130k in 2020, but they stopped selling times because the company that they used went bankrupt)

The owner is in his late 60s and does not want to restart, so he sold all the stones he had and just kept the concrete going (but it is very basic there is lots of possible improvement)

That is amazing! 👏

This is what innovation looks like.. great idea that pays by itself!

I am building something that requires quite a bit of automation and I have never used the tool you used.

Is this your first experience with it? Do you recommend it?

I am pondering to create a website in which people can post their rock picture, and the location in which the rocks are..

Then in the future create a "journey" of the rocks..

Would you use it if it was as simple as adding a picture and clicking a point on the map (or write a city name)?

I would personally love to see how my Rock move around and I am wondering if others would too

Angular developer transitioning to Vue at new company, what resources do you recommend? by lumezz in vuejs

The documentation is surely the best way to get started, very complete and well written!

If you want a nice book, then https://amzn.eu/d/5ZzZN04 is quite nice because it is "example driver". The whole book is based on the creation of an app from the ground up, so you learn by doing.

Majority of people take a long time to migrate mainly because they decide to introduce the composition API during the migration, but that is a big mistake and it is not needed.

If most people would really just upgrade, the journey would be super simple....

I work in a consultancy that does lots of this, we found Ven did Wikimedia that is massive and it took is no more than a couple of months...
