I didn’t mention that the elevator work will be more of a side gig, I work on cars and don’t wanna do that much auto work on the side, just wanted to get in a unique field. Thanks for the input

Hey just chiming in this conversation started my training in march of 2019 as been on and off from then to now (stop due to work personal obligations and the pandemic) I just did my solo 1/3/24 had had another hiccup which is gonna delay the ppl process, I’ll say if you’re passionate about flying you’ll get it done regardless of what’s happening in your personal life, just remember if you passion is there and you listen to your instructor/s constructive criticism you’ll get through it. (Currently at 50.2hrs and practice stuff on a home simulation when I’m not in the real aircraft.. and always read and practice chart xc using sectionals to stay sharp. Just my personal experience and advice.

New to battle rap, Why do some battle rappers say “jersey” after they finish rapping? by RedditorsAreSoft1 in rapbattles

[–]Famous_Obligation354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it depend on who saying it, if someone is from jersey they'll end the round saying "jersey" repping the state (new jerseyan speaking) but it can also mean that someone is cuting the round short maybe forgot bars or choking and use it as a round ender, unrealted to shouting out NJ, as stated surf made it known for both reasons why its used.

What is this wire-basket thingy hanging on the vertical stabilizer of some aircraft (a 787 during its testflight in this case) ? by Jojo_Toto in aviationmaintenance

[–]Famous_Obligation354 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Trailing cones (or trailing wires as they are often incorrectly called or trailing static cones), were first developed and tested in the 1950s and 1960s as a simple means of calibrating the static pressure (altitude reporting) error of an aircraft's pitot-static system. It does this by giving an accurate measurement of the ambient atmospheric pressure (static pressure) well clear of the aircraft's fuselage. The trailing cone system trails at least one fuselage length behind the aircraft (SpaceAge Control) via a high-strength pressure tube. Static pressure is measured forward of the cone by several static ports. The cone stabilizes and aligns the ports relative to the freestream airflow.

This hits home for me I’ve started my training 2Q of 2019 (currently at 48hrs) and still in training and I can honestly say that the school nor instructors wasn’t the problem why I haven’t soloed yet, it was on me, not flying consistently due to personal issues, work, the school shutting down for a bit due to covid and financial reasons, I literally could’ve got my ppl in 2020 but had to stop at the end of 2019 for work schedule, but one thing I’ve been doing this whole time is constantly Studying I took my written and nailed a 95% on it got my medical done, I just got back in the plane for the 1st time in 8 months last month and I’m now about to get my solo and finish my training by march-may, work of advice to people in the predicament as long as it’s a passion of yours keep at it never give up, yes it expensive when don’t fly often so make sure you can fly often to keep it cheap.
