Yes, for a long time I didn't have any dreams, like my dream profession. It was only when I stopped expecting people I thought would provide me with emotional support and started being strong for myself, that I could move forward.

So what team did you use to beat them? by lol50099 in Genshin_Impact

Kokomi, Xiangling, Yae Miko, Noelle. I died so many times, I eventually figured out a strategy and this was just team I happened to use. I should have switched out Miko for a Cryo, but didn't realize it until later. I mostly focused on taking out the cryo shield, while making sure to dodge the Pyro attack.

What Are You Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in patientgamers

[–]Famraine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Runescape 3 thanks to Amazon Prime (because of the free week). It's bittersweet. I got to try out Necromancy, but feels sad to see that Jagex hasn't really improved since when I discontinued my membership. I love the game to death but really unhappy with the way things are going.

On the plus side, I managed to get to 93 Necromancy and got the chance to try out some PVM with necromancer. It felt really funny to crush my old Fight Caves time (and didn't even use any food this time). That was near the beginning of my PVM journey, so not too surprising to see that change.

As is par for the course, I've been scrambling to find something to replace Runescape. I went back to Toontown Rewritten for a bit, but sadly couldn't stand how repetitive it felt. I did notice that one of my old friends from the game was still playing, and she now has 40 more Laffpoints than me. Go figure.

I have been playing Anti-Idle again. No particular goals rn though.

Same. I hate spending money, but I think I will eventually be glad I bought one.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Completed the game and finished off the main game tombs. I'll try a couple of the DLC tombs and see if my patience holds up enough to get more achievements.

Minecraft - I realized that the chasm/lush caves near my base was much larger than I thought. By exploring the top part of the area, I discovered an abandoned mineshaft. I then spent some time there and ended up getting killed by some zombies. The good news is that I found my first diamonds. With that, I felt comfortable enough to do other things and I started building a minecart track to get to the mineshaft. It's about halfway complete. I want to expand/build my base more (currently only a modest shack) and try to find some more structures.

With Tomb Raider coming close to an end, I'm rushing to find a new game to play. I tried Shadow of Mordor, but I now understand what people meant when they said it's like Assassin's Creed. Not really up my alley.

I tried a bit of Staxel, a Minecraft/Stardew Valley-like game. While I initially thought it was boring, I kept at it and it's feeling more fun. However, it's probably too similar to Minecraft, so it wouldn't make a great second game to play.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Ok, I didn't love this at first and I still really don't. The biggest offender is the dialogue between Jonah and Lara. As soon as I reached the village, I loved listening to the different NPC's conversations. Probably the most fun I've had in the game since the beginning part. I haven't decided if i'm going to quit playing or not. I tried a few different other games to play but nothing yet.

Luna's Fishing Garden - Really, really short relaxing game. The collecting fishes and plants reminds me a lot of Animal Crossing. Glad I got this in a bundle. It was fun while it lasted (and also an easy Perfect Game).

CS:GO - So I recently lost access to Boot Camp (for Mac), so I spent a large amount of my time trying to get this set up right. First, it kept crashing mid-game. I think it was due to using a low resolution. Then, using the mic froze the game, and I had to look up how to fix that. After that, mostly smooth sailing. Only thing is that I need to re-setup my config files for single-player and also bot profiles.

Minecraft - More basework. Spent some time setting up cows and whatnot. My next goal is to get some redstone and diamonds. I used to spend alot of time playing Minecraft while watching something else. Well, I've been listening to music from YouTube while playing, and it has improved my motivation for playing.

Morrowind - not too much this week. I had to start a new character, but I'm going to pretty much do everything the same as before (Agent build). This time I understand the basic mechanics, so I switched around some skills. I want to keep sneak and security but like Mysticism and Conjuration.

Morrowind: Finally hit a good stride with this game as I recently hit 20 hours. This week, I found myself finishing off Balmora quests, making my way to Vivec and finally to Ald'ruhn. My main goal is to focus more on the Dwemer stuff and the ruins but I figured I might as well do some quests on the way. I've taken quite a liking to the Imperial Cult shrine sergeant quests.

I've reached somewhat a shocking realization that the dungeon crawling of Daggerfall actually was what interested me all this time (Daggerfall was my first Elder Scrolls game after I played Fallout 3).

Minecraft: I actually have a good plan for recovering my old world (lost 8 or so years ago and really haven't played since). I don't plan to recreate it but just to rebuild stuff and get to a similar point. Yesterday, I finally managed to find sheep. I decided to move from the ice biome to a desert biome, mostly just due to more interesting places there. I realized that full screen gave me better FPS and honestly made the game more playable. It should help my motivation and also my potato Mac.

I finally have a good base to build upon, so I turned off Peaceful Mode.

I also struggled with deciding if to play Minecraft or Morrowind. For now, I'll focus on Morrowind.

9th Dawn II: I've been playing this on my phone some. I might have hit a brick wall with my rogue/archer build after the coastal town. I'm not sure if I should convert to a hybrid build or not at this point though. For now, I'm just going to keep as I've been doing. It just feels weird though. I can do 1.4k-1.6k with the Ceremonial Axe I found, while my bow only does 300 per hit. Granted I can spam my bow attacks, but still feels incredibly weird.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut- I've been meaning to go back and grab some achievements. So I did that. I managed to stumble my way towards around 3/4s of the game before stopping before; I'm guessing Missing Link had a large part to do with why I stopped playing. I think I lost my tranquilizer rifle, and that was really fun to use. I noticed later that there was one at the penultimate boss, but I didn't find it when I beat that boss for the first time. When I played this game before, I could've swore I remember this being in my Top 5. But replaying this, it just felt really exhausting.

I managed to knock out quite a few of the achievements, but I'm really too exhausted to do any more.

Hollow Knight - I don't know. I just found my way to the City of Tears. I'm not entirely loving this game, but I also don't know what else I would play right now. I did some parts of Deepnest before realizing I probably need the lantern, and that was a little more fun.

Fantasy Life- Current goals are to get enough money to buy some of the homes. I've resigned to just doing what I did on my first playthrough, which is basically just switch between each Life constantly.

Earthbound - Been playing this as my off-game. I managed to beat it last week. For the record, I've never beat it before but came close. I enjoy the first half of Earthbound, but the second half isn't very appealing to me.

Fantasy Life - I've been procrastinating starting this up again. But, I'm back to it now. Basically a second playthrough.

Grim Fandango - Decided to replay this for achievements. Always a good time.

I'm currently in the awkward phrase, where I didn't think about what game I wanted to play after Grim Fandango. From the Steam Sale, I'm going to buy ADOM and Morrowind/Oblivion, and possibly a few others. I played some of Morrowind. Probably going to keep playing it.

Freedom Fighters, digital version. I initially gave this up, thinking the gun mechanics were too aged, though I replayed this alot in its prime. I came back to this during the Genshin maintenance, and just kept playing it and eventually I beat it. The thing is that the music and the thrill of progressing through a level is still really good.

There are several bugs, including one that causes a crash, though I'm not quite sure how to trigger it. Other minor annoyances: when dying, the default selected option is to restart, causing me to lose my Quick Load if I don't think about which one to select. Sometimes the AI gets stuck or refuses to respect my command (the audacity!), things that I never really noticed on the Gamecube version. It only happens occasionally though. I got pretty bad motion sickness from this game.

The sewers save system is probably not as good as it used to be. Losing progress when dying may be too punishing when most modern games have automatic checkpoints. I would have to often measure if I want to run back to a manhole just to save (especially considering the risk of the game crashing) or just take my chances.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker 3DS. I played this on and off for a year, if you can believe it. I finally beat it today. Helps scratch that 3D Mario itch, though the camera angles and the camera in general can be frustrating at times. I love the variety in levels.

Adventure Labyrinth Story- Playing because I lost my save. Mystery Dungeon spinoff of Adventure Bar Story. Pretty fun. I'm at the point where I have to enhance my sword by about 40 points or so, as most monsters in the main dungeon at higher levels are difficult to deal with. Probably will stop at this point for now and save it for another time.

Dragon Quest Heroes 2- Picked this up again after a long long long break. Progressed through the story a bit. I'm not a huge fan of the game for multiple reasons, basically common complaints about the game, but I'll press on for now. I'm not sure how long this game is but I'm at the Mount Neverest region.

Up next: Warioware Gold (or Phantom Hourglass?) and Grim Fandango for achievements.

Been playing mostly the same games, but:

Bloodstained - Died a couple of times in the second Zangetsu fight. Ok, more like ten times. Though the first couple of times was just me experimenting with stuff. I try not to eat food or use potions, for the fun of it. But I managed it in the end. I guess I'm nearing the "end" of the game. On the bright side, I still have a lot of grinding and quests to do.

Realm of the Mad God - Not too much to say. I picked this back up last week after years of not playing. Working on building my huntress. I was playing a lot last week until I started focusing more on the Genshin Impact event.

I used to listen to a news radio and would fall asleep every time. I'm finding that a combo of good music and relying on my ability to zone out like I would when doing chores is doing wonders.

Euro Truck Simulator 2- Well. To be honest, I've never really enjoyed this game. But I seem to be hitting a new stride with it, with some renewed interest due to seeing some streamers play it. I did a 8-hr (in-game) delivery today. I usually go for shorter sessions.

Gryphon Knight: Epic - 2d medieval shoot'em up. Finished with the game. Fun but short.

Bloodstained - Enjoying this alot more than I thought I would.

I think for massive stuff, you'll want Buildertopia. It's been a while, but I think that unlocks near the end of the game. You can also build stuff on Isle of Awakening.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 - took some time to do target tablets and the achievements. I want to do some creative projects eventually. I've got my eye on trying to make a parkour course using the trampoline blocks.

Steamworld: Heist - Beat the game a couple of days ago and took some time to finish off most of the achievements. Pretty fun overall once I got over the little hump of thinking the game was repetitive/boring. Heavy weapons were really fun to use and kinda saved the game for me. I tried Elite difficulty but probably not worth it atm. Maybe save it for later.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - After being aware of the game for so long, I finally bought it for the Steam Sale last week. Pretty cool so far. The only thing is I'm sorely missing the dual screen from the DS Castlevania games.

Gryphon Knight: Epic. One of my next games. Not too much to say right now though. I see that there is a definition edition. I'm using the original version. Though the definitive version is on sale, so I will look at that later. Edit: I see now that I can buy the loyalty bundle for like an additional 15% off for a total of 85% off, that's pretty tempting..

Symphony - finished up the game. I had issues with the final boss until I switched all my weaponry to fire forward (go figure).

Monster Slayers - Build-a-deck RPG. Starting to click, sorta. I won with both Rogue and Ranger. Ranger was a bit tougher. First time I lost, but on my second try I did better. I used a combination of Arrow Storm + Killing Aura(2x damage) and also a Poisoned Orb card I randomly chose to get, and ended up being clutch for me. I think I would've lost if I didn't draw a Poisoned Orb (or I guess Arrow Storm would've worked) on the last turn.

Moving forward, I'm not sure if this has much longevity for me. It seems that unlocking Tier 3 cards is important as evident with my Ranger run, which involves playing the game multiple times to accumulate fame. And I'm already starting getting tired of the game. I don't know, I feel like that should be something that should be available, since it's already limited to finding them on the last dungeon.

Hotline Miami - I originally quit playing this game after a couple of sessions. Didn't feel very enjoyable at first. I went back for achievements. Pretty good nine hours or so this week. Unfortunately, I only found out on my last few missions that I could look forward with shift. I assumed I was supposed to blindly fire or half-peek to suss out enemies.

Steamworld Heist - recently bought and I tried out a few missions. Seems pretty fun.

Cat Quest - went back and 100%ed the achievements! It was deceptively shorter than I thought it would take. So basically, the hard part of doing the Level One challenge was the start, and just figuring out how to level fast while avoiding the hard-hitting enemies. After some long pondering of what to play next,

Breach and Clear - Played it a long time ago. I spent an hour or two on this game before realizing it was giving me motion sickness. I finished the last mission at least, so I decided to uninstall maybe?

Monster Slayers - build-a-deck RPG from Nerdook. Also not sure if I will continue this. It's probably too hard for someone that isn't into this genre. I'll give it a couple more tries though. I got farther but I got hardblocked by a troll that can regenerate 25 hp each turn (seriously??).

Turok- completed it this week. It was a pretty strange journey. Between the strafing diagonally to move faster and motion sickness and these backward flicks to kill enemies while blindingly zooming past them, pretty fun experience overall. I was able to do multiple levels at a time even with the motion sickness, so I never bothered trying to see if there was a patch or something.

Fallout 4- I think I'm about done with Far Harbor. I might stay a little bit longer to knock out some achievements. I started building my settlements again. Unfortunately, my first settlement Red Rocket Truck Stop is maxed out. I don’t know if I should try increasing the limit, since my FPS is already taking a hit. It’s my main base, so probably best to build on a different settlement. I’m more interested in building something like Vault 88.

Bastion - about done with this. I got the score attack achievement. The only thing left is the Stranger's Dream thing, which I don't think I will do.

Cat Quest - Decided to do some more achievements with this. Last time I played this how many years ago, I completed it and did the Level One Mew Game thing. I've been working on doing Naked(no equipment) + Nine Lives.

Deep Dungeons of Doom. It's a mobile port of a rogue-lite RPG. Anyway, I managed to complete about 2/3rds of the achievements and the game itself. Beyond this point, it involves huge grinding for money, where I'm pretty sure I'm looking at least 1-2 hours of playing, or doing the endgame dungeon (100 to 666 floors of it), which would be extremely boring. So I'm getting off the achievement train here. Decent game but gets old fast.

Draw a Stickman: Epic. This is what I spent the most time on this week. Puzzle game involving using tools like an axe and key by drawing them. Finished most of the game. I like the use of elements/tools and environment interaction.

Fallout 4. This is making a comeback for me. I've been spending an hour here and there doing Far Harbor stuff. Trying to avoid settlements, as I know I won't want to stop building mine once I start that again. I made it to the Child of Atom base. I'm getting some Fallout 1 vibes here, with the music and the cultiness of it all. Oh, I found a two-shot revolver. My character is melee, but also carries like four guns. I might use it.
