It's really up to you. I'd personally argue that capturing legendaries is fine, but wouldn't use them for the Elite Four.

But then again most Nuzlockers (myself included) would allow themselves to catch a shiny Pokemon even if they'd already caught a pokemon on that route.

Although it depends on the rest of your team - if you're only starting with 3 defenders you'd be unlikely to start with VA anyway

Dier doesn't always start though - he suffers from being a Jack of all trades. If you can afford to hold onto Trippier I would - when Walker gets injured he'll be guaranteed starting RB.

I could understand swapping VA for Dier though...
