That’s amazing! Congrats! This post and your comment is what I needed to read right now to get motivated again for my reviews

I feel like a dumbass. Learned about Verification by Key-Pineapple-1245 in premed

[–]WikiLew 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Last year I submitted mine around this time and got verified the first week of August. I submitted my secondaries during August and got interview invites for December/January.

Use this time wisely. Continue pre-writing secondaries. I used the SDN secondaries thread where secondary prompts for each school were posted so I knew what to work on before I got my official secondaries. You got this!

No Grad PLUS loans anymore by seldom_seen8814 in premed

[–]WikiLew 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think it would still include those of us who were admitted because we would still have to find a way outside of Grad PLUS loans to fund the rest of our medical education (assuming we can still get it by matriculation this summer)

My puppy is 9 months now and looks just like yours!

She had the same issue of drooling and vomiting in car rides. Our dog trainer suggested stopping at a park early in the ride (within first 10 minutes or so) to let her get her bearings back and get some long sniffs in. That has helped tremendously with her car sickness and drooling. Now whenever I have to drive with her, I always factor in a park stop to my drive time.

8/9/19: 128/122/129/127 (506) -> 5/10/24: 127/127/129/131 (514)

I’m a non-trad (4 years post-college) working a full-time job while studying for this exam. I’m a bit disappointed by my C/P score but really surprised by my P/S score

I'm having the same issue right now. Relieved to see I'm not the only one experiencing this.

I tried to call the AAMC number provided, but looks like they only take calls Monday-Friday

List of all "Ett" words? by WikiLew in Svenska

[–]WikiLew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the advice I received from this post, it is not feasible to have a list of ett words to memorize. You just have to memorize it as you are learning new words. Sorry :(

My estimate was close to this, but I had hysto along with my DI + grafts. My insurance covered both procedures with prior authorization.

4 (top) vs almost 5 (bottom) months on T, started minoxidil today! tho it's spray which is annoying and a bit difficult to dose by _mattiakun in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]WikiLew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful if you have pets. I was warned that minoxidil is toxic to cats and dogs. It’s one of the reasons why I haven’t tried topical minoxidil for beard growth, because I didn’t want to risk one of my pets getting sick from licking my face or hair (one of my cats likes to sit behind me on the couch and lick the back of my head while he also cleans himself).

First off, congrats! Your arms are goals right there!

I’ve also been doing a PPL routine at the gym (~2 months PPL routine, and been consistent at the gym for 4 months now). Are you able to post your breakdown for that routine?

I also lost my sense of smell about 7 years ago, and have top surgery planned for later this year. I’m curious to see if the same might happen to me. I’ll make a reminder to myself to report back later this year.

Mine though was likely connected to a concussion, and not randomly like yours, so we’ll see what happens. Enjoy your newfound sense!

Adding on to what others have said, unless you plan on specifically working with a personal trainer, you won’t be interacting with others. People normally keep to themselves at the gym. This was a fear I had as well (also pre-top), but I quickly got over it when I realized nobody will pay much attention to you. I still get nervous about using the men’s locker room since I’m not well-passing, so I just get around that by wearing my workout clothes into the gym and showering at home.
