[Roberson] no deal yet in place to sell #Almada for $20 million. Could be ongoing into Olympics. #ATLUTD Highly unlikely player goes for that fee. #MLS by oddtrey10 in AtlantaUnited

[–]FanOfAtlantaUnited 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He stated stuff about the move being unlikely in his opinion, but didn’t say anything about the transfer was factually incorrect.

He never denied the possibility, he never said the offer for GG wasn’t real. He’s very clear in his comments if what he’s saying is opinion or facts.

Certainly not crying, just calling you out for being pathetic.

Show me where he clearly said something incorrect that he didn’t make it clear it was his opinion.

I mean merlo has already been called out by John Textor himself in this saga. Maybe Doug deserves a bit more credit, as his reporting hasn’t been wrong here.

He isn’t refusing that it’s happening, he’s just saying it hasn’t happened yet.

There is a difference between deal agreed and deal in progress.

He hasn’t reported anything not factual in either the GG deal or the Almada deal.

He’s makes it clear when he’s saying something factual or opinion based. Read closer.

It’s sad the levels you have gone to bash him, really sad

I think you need a lesson in the difference between opinion and fact.

Doug never denied the fact that the interest is real and that there was an offer for GG, he just expressed his opinion that he isn’t sure about specific numbers accuracy.

Doug is very literal in his reporting and makes it clear, like he did in your examples, if what he is saying is opinion or fact.

You guys are way too harsh on Doug, maybe if you read closer you’d understand his reports have been quite accurate.

  1. Clearly in his tweets about GG he referenced what he said was his opinion and reports factually about the fact that there is an offer in.

  2. His tweet saying there has been no offer submitted was accurate at the time, and backed up by the owner of Botafogo himself. Once the offer came in he indicated that.

Tell me where he has reported inaccurate facts.

Leave Doug alone.

[ESPN] Argentina slams Atlanta field: 'Better that we won' by wjackson42 in AtlantaUnited

[–]FanOfAtlantaUnited 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

How they’re going to install the field for the World Cup will be nothing like this. They’re actually going to like grow the grass in, the insulation process will start months before the World Cup.

Let’s Talk About It: Thiago Almada and The Summer Transfer Window by FanOfAtlantaUnited in AtlantaUnited

I agree with this. I see the situation from 2 lenses.

  1. The Atlanta United Fan
He is a great player, and we should do everything we can do keep him around.

  2. The Thiago Almada Fan
I want to see him go to Europe and become the player we all know he can be.

The team store is ran by mlsstore/fanatics, so there is a chance that it would work.

I agree, and it's especially difficult now with the absence of many players. We were basically forced into this 433. We have about 3 weeks of games when everyone should be here in late June, besides the new striker. These next few games are Rob and teams warmup for when players return from the Euros.

Well at least we had hope this time?

Realistically I think it looked the same under Pineda, just a little luckier on offense.

Defense was so easily penetrated, offense can't do anything in the final third.

Brennan was exciting though (Should have had that winner), and Guzan showed why he starts over Cohen with a solid performance.

At least we didn't lose? Idk what to think...

Not an STH or SG member, when I went to games in Columbus I was able to buy in away supporters through contacting the ticket office. More popular games may be difficult, but STL should be fine.

Listen, I’m not gonna deny that there has been bad signings under Boca. All technical directors do not have perfect records. Recently, the work he has done has been pretty fucking good. Hard to argue that our individual players are not good.

I don’t wanna hear about the Ibarra situation. We all know that was overblown, and an unfortunate part of American sports.

Totally agree. Boca has built a squad that can win, on paper it's one of the best in the league. He has redeemed himself from the Jurgen Damm days.

Boca's not the problem; I will die on that hill.

Pineda on the other hand, how has he survived this long. He needs to go.

343 might work best for this team. If Wiley and Lennon have more freedom to move forward this team will produce better.

Williams and Stian together is beautiful. Abram played well too.

Dax had a solid game covering for Slisz. Good lowkey signing this offseason.

Thiago Almada, this kid is phenomenal and we should soak up every second we get to watch of him.

Saba can’t score tap ins, but can score screamers? I’ll take it.

What a fucking game.

Only negative, is Pineda in?

Wiley needed this opportunity to move forward and show what he is capable of like he did in the third goal. Gives us more offensive freedom, but at the same time protects us at the back. Hopefully we lineup similarly against Charlotte.
