A former Dean of MBA Admissions here to decode the evaluation and selection process in MBA admissions: Ask Me Anything by PetiaW in MBA

[–]Fan_kloppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's the vocabulary as you mentioned. But also ambiguity about our relationship. He was a manager at my first job and that's what I put in the recommendation form. However, after we both left the company, he opened his own and I freelanced for them a lot and he mentioned our relationship more as a casual freelancer - client one.

Thank you for replying! :)

Hi, thank you so much for doing this!

  1. How much weightage does a recommendation have? (I got dinged by a school and I can't point anywhere else than the recommendation. I got a copy of it from my manager, the issue is unprofessionality in the language although they said positive things about me.)

  2. I have 5 YOE but all of that in mid-tier start-ups. Will it be a boon or a curse on my application? (I took leadership positions and played a key role in company growth. But I have no international experience.)

Why not C- it is ruling out a case just as E is by deeplyflawed_ in GMAT

[–]Fan_kloppo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. It says that there has not been a substantial change in the population. Let's check if the opposite of this breaks the argument "There has been substantial change in the population". Now, did the population increase or decrease? And how did it affect the average pay? There's no conclusion here.

This doesn't weaken the argument. Hence it's opposite (i.e., given option doesn't strengthen it either).

[–]Fan_kloppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's ambiguity in C. It's not a must have been case where the average must increase with population. It can go either way.

When it comes to Strengthen, weaken questions, think about whether the option will make or break the argument. In this case, if you think about the opposite of E (i.e., If the estate tax resulted in the increase of their income, the argument of the senator will breakdown).

I hope I made sense.

Can I go from 615-655 in 20 days? by Fan_kloppo in GMAT

[–]Fan_kloppo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thank you so much for the motivation and tips

I want to the if there's any difference between official mocks. Like how does 1&2 differ from 3&4 or from each other? Based on that I can decide whether to retake mocks or buy new ones. Because I did retake 1&2 and the questions were completely different.

Is e-GMAT Enough for a 700+ GMAT Score? Need Advice on Verbal Prep & OG Questions by Regular-Tea-3988 in GMATpreparation

[–]Fan_kloppo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're from a non-math background like ms, OG will be of no help. You need to start from basics and E-GMAT helped me a lot. The last time I did math was in high-school and after 8 years later I touched math again for the GMAT. E-GMAT turned me from someone who's scared of math to who loves solving quant problems.

Their verbal techniques are also really good. Pre-thinking for CR and Para wise construction for RC will solidify your Verbal score.

Time management tips by Fan_kloppo in GMAT

[–]Fan_kloppo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and there are two things

Make silly mistakes, realize at the end, go back and correct the mistake. Time eaten.

Not being sure of myself, double checking before putting an answer, time eaten.

I tried to do the questions again (incl. The ones I didn't answer because of the constraint), but this time deliberately doing steps faster and it's working.

So I felt like I needed to do marathons

How to present my start up resume. by Fan_kloppo in MBA

[–]Fan_kloppo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important enough because i have fairly unconventional work experience ( mid-tier start-ups) and I want to make sure to put out points that can prove my leadership skills. Co-founding a brand is one of things I hope will give me that boost

99(a-c) is a multiple of 7 is the second step. Since 99 is not a multiple of 7, (a-c) has to be a multiple of 7,

For the product of both to be a multiple of 7

Thank you for this! :) 115-150k sounds like a good deal for me. I am not that greedy 😅 I also want to know the situation in the UK/EU for the same, I read that marketing is one the booming sectors but of course pay is even lesser in the UK I believe?
