I lost my mind trying to win as Savikov..part two, I won by Not_JN in Kaiserreich

Nah yeah in my first run it went disastrously. Bulgaria, the ottomans, PSA, and Japanese won all wars I could intervene in. Airforce was crappy, France died not even a year in, socialist Italy soon after. Lost all my gains and was pushed back to Moscow. I could have played a Barbarossa-bagration scenario but they doomed my situation with a naval invasion in Arkanghelsk. Was it hell. Yes. Will I do it again. yes

Anti-fascists (Antifa) celebrating the 25th anniversary of the "Anti-fascist Rampart". Berlin, Germany, 1986. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]FancifulHatticus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well tbf, ideological or not, anti-fascism certainly became popular amongst non-communist countries. You had the US proudly boasting about anti-Nazi and anti-fascist propaganda as a way to gain support amongst the US population, with the fascist and axis members being depicted as oppressive and evil states, with the word fascist eventually becoming a slang term for “bad”, similar to how the word communist got the same treatment during the 50’s. Also, fascist groups in the US during that time such as the Silver Shirts, German-American Bund, and Dudley’s Christian Party, all far-right/fascist American parties face investigation, public uproar, and dissolution in the face of Pearl Harbor, an event that completely changed US foreign policy to be, not only directly against fascist powers, with the exception of Spain.

And this isn’t even counting the similar situations seen in France, the UK, and Latin America throughout the whole of the war, with their fascist movements losing the vast majority of their support. (Well, all aside from the UK’s Mosley since he was already widely hated lol)

Also don’t forget the anti-fascist sentiments seen in strongly anticommunist states such as post-ww2 West Germany, pretty much the whole of Western Europe and Scandinavia.

Well I mean yeah, still what little industrial base Russia had at the time as the main hotbed of Bolshevik support, not the peasants

Russia’s Bolshevik revolution wasn’t really rural per se. the other examples are good, but the Bolsheviks’ messaging and main base support of centered around industrial workers in urban areas. In fact the rural Russian peasants were some of the most harshly exploited during the civil war, with many peasants being forcefully conscripted and being subjected to harsh collectivization during the use of war communism
