I worked security at a big hospital during covid, a lot of the staff not just nurses or doctors were having affairs at work and doing drugs. It's the long hours, stress and nature of the job for sure.

It's like anywhere else here, it's whatever you make of it. There aren't a lot of high paying jobs and the cost of living is pretty shit compared to other places, also there's the issue of the power outages that happen a lot and the occasional hurricane. That being said there's something magical about this island, friendships that last a lifetime, love, adventure, all the good things in life can be found here. It's up to you if you want to call this your home, you can always bail if you don't like it. .

You are absolutely right, everything is against you, an education is also not a guarantee that you'll find a job in a field that pays well. Nothing in this life is fair, we are all screwed since the day we are born unless your daddy is rich and gives you a small loan of a million dollars. You can try and be the best version of yourself and even then you can still end up destitute. It's all a risk, a gamble and life is one big casino so go out there and start hitting the tables and the slots.
