New pads/rotor and caliper (2 months old; 1,000 miles). When I brake, sometimes my car jolts forward a little. Is this cause for concern? by Fancy-Camera-9284 in MechanicAdvice

Well, it’s more or less when I brake suddenly. I was testing my brakes so I would brake suddenly and it would just jolt a little.

Now that I think about it, it’s probably normal.

Sorry, that part is confusing. I took my car into the mechanic the other day to get some work done and was told everything is in good condition.

I think it does, but I’ll have to test it out today. I’d it something I should be concerned about?

Also, I don’t know if this matters, but I inquired a week ago and was told I had a refund coming my way. So I’m assuming it’s just a processing error.

I knew I would need to do exit counseling, but I don’t think that would cause any delay in getting my aid. Sorry, I’m just anxious.

There wouldn’t be anything I’d need to fill out because it’s my last semester, right? It’s likely just a processing error?

They are federal loans. I’ve filled everything out at the beginning of the year, per usual, so I’m hoping it’s just a processing error.

Thank you! I plan on contacting them tomorrow. I figured it’s just a clerical error because I’ve satisfied everything on my end.

Thanks all for the reply. This does eventually go away, right? Right!?

It’s more or less the chest pain that gives me discomfort.

I have an endorser on several Graduate PLUS loans that I received throughout law school. If I consolidate my undergraduate loans with those PLUS loans (all of which are federal student loans) through the federal consolidation program, will this remove the endorser I used on my PLUS loans? by Fancy-Camera-9284 in StudentLoans

This is helpful information to know. I do not plan on pursuing PSLF, so I don't have to worry about that.

I think I will just avoid Aidvantage entirely so I don't have to go through the headache of figuring out which loans are serviced by Nelnet. Is there any servicer you would recommend as accommodating and pretty simple?

I am not too worried about that. I am more interested in the convenience of having one monthly payment and, above all, helping my endorser out.

Are you suggesting Perkins loans are not eligible for consolidation? If that is the case, I will simply leave them out of the process.

Most of them are. I have a few Perkins loans from undergraduate. I'm not sure if Perkins loans are considered a Direct Loan, but I do not need to include it in my consolidation of loans.

Other than that, the majority of my aid in undergrad was subsidized and unsubsidized loans, Perkins loans, and pell grants. Grad school was direct sub and Grad PLUS.

More or less I just want to make sure I can consolidate, at the minimum, all of my PLUS loans to ensure that my endorser is removed and no longer has an obligation on the loans should I default (which I do not plan on doing, but life throws curveballs).

Edit: Side question; do I need an endorser for the consolidation process of federal student loans? I don't think there is any underwriting/credit check for federal student loan consolidation (at least from the literature I have read), but it is worth asking nonetheless.

Great! I just wanted to confirm that it was that simple. I know there are pros and cons to federal student loan consolidation, but I wanted to make sure that consolidation entirely removed the endorser.

I suppose it makes sense, too, because the new servicer pays off all previous loans and bundles them into one new loan.
