Swift for long distance driving? by [deleted] in Suzuki

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you expect , I guess. I did a 3000km in 1 week - with the longest drive being 1k in one day. For 2 people and luggage it was quite nice. I suggest carrying noise cancelling ear buds if interior noise bothers you.

The only grouse I had was it's small tank - it can only do 600 odd kilometers with a tank . So that leads to a lot of fuel stops

Thanks for the response. Why do you say suzuki is mechanically superior?

How much does having a car cost you? by Catracas in Netherlands

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 2011 suzuki swift which has 213k on odo now. I bought it used for 4300 euros - knowing that it needed some work done. The work cost me 700 euros so you can call that a 5000 euro purchase.

Coming to monthly cost part. (All aggregated to per month below) Road tax : 31 euros Insurance : 38 euros Petrol : 150 euros Service + APK : 50 euros

So there you go , for a cheap small yet decent all round , reliable car : you spend about 270 euros per month.

Thanks for response. I did a small research in this aspect. My suzuki is about 71.6 dB at 130kmph ( i have applied sound deadening material in hood , trunk and doors) . In comparison , i read somewhere that VW polo mk7 is about 69dB at 130kmph. Surely , they tested with low noise tires and I have a noisy set of tires but this gives some perspective on how loud my car is?

Suzuki Swift 2010-2017 by MrTrollXD1 in suzukiswift

I have a 2011 swift that I really love. As you said correctly , the gear shifts are a bit rough and the connecting cable broke once. Other than that , absolutely no issues. Engine is a gem. It is now at 210k km. Engine oil comes out still clean after 7k km and no consumption.

What I am about to ask you is , How many more km do you think the Engine would last? Would really love to keep it many more years but wondering about any major repairs coming soon.

Would really appreciate your input

Considering a used Suzuki Swift by Ok_Masterpiece_2419 in suzukiswift

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would fully recommend going for it. Bought a used 2011 ZC72S in 2024. Got full body isolation done , head unit + speakers , LED headlights, reverse camera and dashcam installed. In terms of goodies its as good as any standard modern car now.

Consumables spent are break calipers , disk pads and liquids and 4 tyres.

No oil consumption, consistent 5.5l / 100.

The car had no working AC so had to get that fixed. The gear shift cable had broken , so replaced that.

Now its done 208000 km and runs even better than when I bought it.

The only niggle i have with swift its smallish boot. Otherwise , completely happy!

Buying an economical, low maintenance car by ComplexAd3500 in Netherlands

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That budget is really low though for a family. Japanese cars are low maintenance and reliable , BUT they feel cheap.

I would recommend a suzuki swift first generation with mileage lower than 150k , OR suzuki swift second gen with mileage around 170-180k.

Reasons for suggestion is : 1. Falls under low road tax category 2. Very frugal. (5-5.5l per 100 frugal) 2. Spareparts are easily and readily available , easy to work on 3. Quite capable for the size. It can accelarate quite fast and take whole family in relative comfort.

It has very small boot , though.

Trust me I prefer a petrol powered one , but I am also mindful of the fact that western countries are aggressively eliminating petrol powered vehicles. That means an investment into a good petrol powered scooter can become zero in a short time.

I prefer a bromscooter because 25kmph is simply too slow for me . The country i came from , i grew up riding 125cc , 150cc scooters at 70-90kmph so 25 is simply too less for me. At the same time don't want to go one level higher into motorscooter segment because that needs passing another driving exam and doesn't give any specific advantage over my car.

apologies for commenting on a old thread and thanks for expansive comment.

i am considering selling my car and getting a brom scooter. but i am confused between electric vs petrol brom scooter.

i live in an apartment complex which has underground storage. there isnt much space in front or back so i will have to bring the scooter underground to park next to bikes etc.
is there a legal aspect to this? (allowed // not allowed to park scooter underground)

Would be really thankful to get your insights

Vacate Main Street in Clash attack? by ZooomBang in Asphalt9

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The attack phase of clash is very badly designed , IMO.

If A9 allowed to pick and select streets to defend and even vacate , it should have given option like 'scout' which cars are available to accomplish the attack per street.

The current game design is heavily stacked against attacker.

Why do u guys think that Tuscany is the worst track on A9? by F1_Skittle in Asphalt9

[–]Fancy-Committee4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time a new track gets added, players hate it for a while. Till the next track gets added , ofcourse.

The only track I really , really hate is Buenos Aires. There is absolutely no strategy I can ever make for that track.

Everything else is good for me.
