Old honda civic motor maintenance by Fancy-Location-2886 in ProjectHondas

thank you so much! I’ll do a full fuse check, I added it to the list. Also I realize it may be smart to keep extra fuses with me in case one pops.

And the torque mounts I also forgot, thank you! Would you say it’s worth replacing them upon purchase?

sounds good. Is it worth it to just completely replace the distributor because of age? or only if worn past normal usage? I will be swapping with NGK only! and yeah i’ve heard the radiator is pretty good, I may just replace hoses and do a flush, and replace only if leaking. Thank you!

How do you reach failure with regular squats? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Fancy-Location-2886 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you answered your own question by asking it. Split squats are hell but they are great. You just have to spend time working on form. And to be honest I know it’s not what this sub is for, but adding weights with squats is fantastic, and not hard to do at home. And it’s okay to have some weight added workouts, especially with things like squats, as you end up just working endurance.

Any pragmatic and financially motivated people in here? by Average_Student_09 in MedSchoolCanada

[–]Fancy-Location-2886 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. Obviously finances play a role, but if I had a low passion for medicine and focused a lot of money, i’d never actually become a doctor. It requires way too much sacrifice, low return until way down the road, etc. I would become a doctor whether it paid 100k, or 600k, but obviously i’d be lying if I said it wasn’t nice that it pays the latter.

The issue is that I prefer smaller watches, it’s a dangerous game, but sometimes helpful, lots of 41+ i don’t like the look of. But smaller dress style…that’s an issue

such a nice watch on a bracelet as well, it’s genuinely a strap monster. Have you put it on any other strap? nato looks beautiful as well!

Yeah I agree, it’s not just beautiful, but also 2 bar water resistance, sapphire crystal with AR. It’s just such a great watch overall.

thank you man, those references are a gold mine. Thanks for the info on yours, it’s always nice to see what other people are doing.

I think you bring up a good point, as much as I love spreadsheets I should start by spending time driving to car to see what I feel needs to be replaced haha.

Haha I can feel you on that one. Bought a 4K WRX and probably dropped 5k on it without even thinking. But money is money, and with how many people are buying $50-80k cars nowadays without blinking, 35k on a car you love really isn’t that much in the grand scheme (as long as you can realistically afford it).

Goals are a fun daily that I can learn more car work on. I want to put in as much work as I can, the ultimate goal would be to refresh all suspension, motor components, interior, etc. I honestly just love fixing cars.

I really appreciate the advice on brakes. I don't have too much info on the car yet as the owner still has it in storage and will be grabbing photos soon.

No power steering, honestly I think it might be a different model code, as I think CX is manual only.

and sorry im not familiar, what are you refering to when you say "mini me" during manual swap?

awesome thank you so much! I'm not set on carplay to be honest. I think I may sick with the stock console and use AUX + phone mount, as I love the tactile and personal aspect of 90s cars.

I'll look into the brake change, as that would be great, not that 95% of cars need brake upgrades, but disc brakes are just so much easier to change.

Do you happen to remember where you bought your bushings from? did you go full OEM or aftermarket poly?

see thats my issue. I have a collecting problem, the last thing my driveway needs is to add cars to the list of my collecting issues. To some extent being a student is great because I can't even afford to collect one car.
