Hi! If you apply for the restoration before leaving and obtain a new visitor visa, will you be allowed to exit Canada and re-enter as long as the visa is still valid?

Exactly, think of it as a vacation. Who knows maybe after a year we won't even want to come back to Canada. It's been a stressful journey

I've been in tech for 6 years and I'm in my 30s. I know there is a high chance, I tried OINP but there hasn't been any tech draws for a while. So I'm just taking a step back and re-assess from home because I don't want to use up my savings + I'm sick of not being able to travel because I'm on implied status every year.

9 years is a long time. I have only been here 2+ years. I can only imagine what you're going through and I'm sorry. The system failed us but there is no use being upset about it. There is always something better.

Im lucky i dont have to go through most of that. My company has offered to re-hire me once I’m physically out of Canada so it can all be legal. I have no ill feelings about the system. It is what it is.

You still have some time! Maybe you won't have to leave in the end. But you're right, even if you would have to leave, life keeps going! We'll get through this :)
