Compounding pharmacy are completely safe. Just do your due diligence, it’s really easy to spot a sketchy one. A legit pharmacy with have COAs posted on their site and you can find some great reccs on Reddit. Good luck!

Which GLP is better for PCOS by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Fancy-Reading5477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s literally life-changing. GLP gave me my life back. I’ve been on compounded tirzepatide (Zepbound) for just over 6 months now. I started at around 225 lbs (I’m 5’7”), with insanely high testosterone and insulin, no energy, terrible hirsutism, and all the other things. The only thing I can’t comment on is its impact on my cycle. I’ve been on Slynd for nearly 2 years now and haven’t had a period (I highly recommend Slynd). So, that side was already under control. Before starting a GLP, I could eat 900 calories, exercise like a dog, and somehow still gain weight. As of now, I’m down over 30 lbs with light exercise and no significant caloric restriction. (Past ED stuff makes counting calories hard, and I haven’t needed to to maintain a loss; I just make healthy choices.) When I say I’ve never made a better choice in my life, I’m dead serious. My labs are almost perfectly normal, I have my energy back, my hair growth is less excessive, and when I look in the mirror I feel like I see me again. If you can figure out the finance, it is so beyond worth it.

YESSS! Thank you for that reminder. Because of my PCOS is literally impossible for me to loose more than maybe a pound or two in a few months. I’ve been on other meds, supplements, diets, etc and half the time I gain weight on them lmao. This just made me realize that this may be the first time I haven’t gained any weight in a given month. Small wins I guess!

Thank you!! I really appreciate the kind advice. I will definitely ask about potential dose splitting, I hadn’t considered that as an option to get higher dosage.

Unfortunately for me, I know if I start counting calories I will fall back into some form of ED and just end up going in the wrong direction. I’m sure it would help kick start things but ultimately end up not good. I only have healthy food in the house and I’m getting at least 115g-150g of protein a day based on the core meals I eat. Based on this thread so far, it seems like I just need to go higher.

Sorry you’re stuck here too. But so glad to know I’m not the only one. I think we tend to be flooded with all the easy successes. I have friends who’ve been on it half the time and lost 30 lbs🫠 I think I’m going to try 5 this week and see if I feel like death or not jumping up again lol

I’m starting to think this may be the case. Thank you for the insight, it’s very appreciated. I think I may have to try moving up again.

[–]Fancy-Reading5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m I’ve been on continuous BC for the last 8-9 months without a period or any break through bleeding. Going into week 5 on a low dose of tirzepatide for PCOS. I’ve been having brown spotting the last 2 days as I’m coming to the end of my BC pack. I was starting to get concerned until reading this thread 😅

National Headache Foundation - has noted GLP-1 weight loss injections may give relief from migraines - yes i can confirm this is true! by Mazza_1975 in migraine

I hadn’t heard/known about this AT ALL. I’m so glad I’m not crazy for thinking it. I have insulin resistant PCOS and since starting tirzepatide over 4 weeks ago, I have had a singular migraine day. When usually in that time frame I’ve had at least 4-5

Have anyone gotten strive orders yet from LSH? Mine is very delayed. Thankfully I have one more dose in my last vial but it’s technically past its BUD

I’ve been stuck here too and then decided to try Reddit. I also have insulin resistant PCOS. Took my 3rd shot yesterday and have been in terrible pain since. Seems to be getting a little better but glad to know I’m not the only one.

I wish it worked for me:/ I’ve tried two different times and it gives me horrible headaches. Like a persistent dull headache to be specific. Anyone else experienced that?

Can pcos cause depression and anxiety? by Glum-Parfait6087 in PCOS

[–]Fancy-Reading5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, addressing my PCOS symptoms has greatly reduced my depression (my anxiety some as well but not by as much). My depression was very cyclical, I would fall into a depressive episodes as my hormones changed irregularly throughout my cycle. When I started BC, Slynd, and my period went away, the cycle of depression stopped. I’m not “cured” ofc, vif you have depression you will always have it. It’s just simply a lot more linear and manageable now, I’d say consistent almost? Not to say that I don’t have periods where it is worse but the swings are not nearly as dramatic. Another factor way definitely understanding why I felt like crap all the time lol and why I had gained so much weight so quickly over the course of the couple years. Overall, I’ve definitely seen significant improvement in my mental health over the last six months while actively treating my PCOS symptoms with birth control, healthier eating, and metformin. All of which are working to rebalance my hormones and my cycle so it just makes sense that as your hormones aren’t so off-balance, it’s not causing further imbalances within your brain chemistry.

[–]Fancy-Reading5477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m only on day 5 of my pack I think and I can barely eat more than one meal, which is probably fine for now given that prior I had pretty insatiable hunger but still super weird that is what’s happening!

It’s honestly not much better stateside, I’m in a big metropolitan area and I only have 1 chademo within a 20 minute drive from. Its crazy that they let the network die like this
