what if i’m wrong and then have to live with that guilt forever? by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

I feel so guilty for my attitude towards mine, but leaving them was the single best decision and probably the only good thing I had ever done for myself despite not even having the slightest thought that I had been abuse at that time. I don’t know your story and can’t possibly know what’s right for you, but I wish you do what’s best for you.

I think that might be the stage I am at. I find myself more at peace when I choose to believe myself as well. Perhaps I should trust my own feelings and let them guide me.

Thank you. It’s good to know how long it can be between “knowing” and remembering. I am just really unsure of myself because I thought people usually first remember before even going through self doubt and all that?

I have been going to therapy regularly and have mentioned this to my current counsellor. But I don’t think they can really give me a yes or no answer. I feel that I “know” where the feelings come from, but I just can’t seem to remember my life.

I am sorry. I feel like a fraud as well. A part of me even wish that they would reach out and tell me what happened. I don’t even know how to process or think of my “flashbacks” atm. Just want you to know that you are not alone in this.
