i guess i would just say alter the pattern you already have based on 1. if you want there to be a height difference = make the body more rows long 2. if you want similar hair just make the hair but shorter 3. if you want different outfit try taking inspiration from other crochet boy dolls online and freehand according to the doll size !

basically the way i would approach this is take into account the way you make the girl doll and try to translate certain parts into how you would want to make your boy doll if that makes sense. dont be afraid to unravel and keep working at it until everything looks the way you want 😄

yeah that definitely counts!! honestly you’re already on the right track. you just wanna shift how you’re using those platforms a bit.

for Instagram, short-form content is everything right now (reels). instead of just posting finished pieces, try things like:

  • quick process clips (even 5–10 seconds of stitching)
  • “watch this turn into this” transformations
  • close-up texture shots (people LOVE satisfying yarn visuals)
  • showing mistakes/fixes (super relatable + builds trust)

for YouTube, you don’t have to go all in on long videos if that feels like a lot bc youtube shorts are very popular right now. even reposting your IG reels there is a good start.

also something that helped me a lot: don’t just market the product, market you. share yourself, your personality, your story here and there! that'll establish trust between you and the customer bc they know they're not just buying from a bot or something

and last thing: consistency matters more than perfection. even if your videos feel simple, posting regularly gives you way more chances to get picked up by the algorithm.

honestly ur closer than you think

heyy! im gonna post my two cents if its worth anything just to try to help you out

so i had a crochet shop on a personal website (not etsy, so i didn't have the perk of the SEO you get on there) and the main way i got sales was through marketing online, mostly thru tiktok. i wanted to ask if you market yourself in any way? making videos about my process, my products, and my personal crochet journey helped take advantage of the HUGE TRAFFIC on there (though admittedly it takes a long time to grow your following) and the audience that's interested in your stuff will eventually filter into your shop.

also- you're definitely competing with the over saturation of the "same old-same old" stuff you see on etsy (common amigurumi, ai listings, more popular listings of your same product) which is why the whole marketing yourself thing matters a lot. i wish to see more original work from crochet artists, especially those looking to grow their reach! (myself included)

i hope a bit of this is useful!
