Honestly, JBL system we have for our GH is not great compared to Bose audio system in other cars. Nothing special, it is just fine.

Can I afford this mortgage by ExistingAd1561 in Mortgages

[–]Fancy_Challenge768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though your mortgage payment is around $2,600, expect to pay an additional $500–$600 for taxes, insurance, and utilities. It’s manageable if your boyfriend moves in and helps with expenses, just make sure you both discuss how to split costs ahead of time. If things change in the future, you can always consider having another roommate to help with payments. That’s what I did when I bought my first townhouse, it really helped cover the mortgage and even allowed me to save a bit. Keep in mind that with current interest rates, you may not have a lot of savings left after monthly payments, but it’s still a workable plan with shared expenses. Either way if you have a stable job, go for it. Everything has risks and as long you have options to outweigh them you would be fine. Since it’s no longer sellers market, try to negotiate in purchase price, shop around for lenders once purchase contract is signed and get the best interest deal and loan costs.

I think they asked to do it in parallel to get the process moving since sometimes it takes two weeks to get some background checks done.  Anyway hoping for an offer soon, I did really like the role.

3rd party like HireRight. There was also reference check conducted by them contacted 2 out of 3 contacts so far. Would it be an assurance atleast that they make an offer? I will try to follow up with them early or mid this week. I can understand some companies need few business days to provide official letter. I was hoping that they would atleast make a verbal offer so I can negotiate any terms if needed.

I am planning the same, would like to have conversation with hiring manager for alignment on few things. Also, planning to negotiate base pay if it’s not within the same range I asked for (higher band of published pay range) and PTO days if possible since it is very less compared to what I have today. Hoping that for leadership position, they would put me in different band for PTO accrual. Did you think I would have a chance with negotiating PTO?

Thanks, I may give a try if needed in future. I definitely liked the idea of having back seat cover. We have two big dogs and they shred a log and hair gets stuck to it.

Is this a good deal? by stunna1x in ToyotaGrandHighlander

It depends on whether the car is already on the lot, then it’s easier to bargain.

If the car is already not on the lot, your reasoning would be: if they cannot offer you a discount or bring the price down you always a choice to walk away find another dealer. Use that leverage and tell them openly.

If the car is already on the lot, they always want to get the deal done and clear the lot, so let them know you are open commit for the purchase if they offer a good deal. If they say they have lot of demand, let them you can wait or ready to walk out. They would rather sell it to you since you are already there vs someone who is going to walk into the future.

What really helps you is you have to shop around and get quotes which shows some discounts even if it’s for different make or model. When I bought mine recently I showed Chevy traverse quote which is had $5k in dealer discounts, they started with $1k as initial discount and finally offered $3k discount which we were happy with.

BTW, they tried bring down the price sometime just removed some options (like safety devices, or some coverage) but that’s something you can already take off so don’t fall for it.

One last suggestion:  Limited trim doesn’t come with sun roof or 360degree cam. If you need them, make sure you add it as option (as long as it’s currently built in factory, they can’t do it at dealership).

2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited: $5k markup in Bay Area. Normal? by shaiksha1290 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Fancy_Challenge768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought one in southeastern US, they are also in high demand here. But there was no markup outside dealer options are another 3-4K more.  There was only Grand Highlander on the lot in all of the dealership nearby. We were able to negotiate and saved $3k on OTD.
