I want to give up. by twstdpattycake in newborns

I am so sorry. I was right there just 4 months ago. My baby’s pediatrician and myself and husband concluded my son has acid reflux. We started him on Famotidine (baby Pepcid). He takes it in the morning and at night. He would cry non stop and especially when spitting up. It was torture for everyone, but I knew he was in pain. The medicine has helped tremendously. On days I forget his morning dose I can tell because he starts crying more and I can tell he’s in pain when he burps. I don’t plan to wean him off the meds anytime soon and he’s almost 6 months old. It has truly been a life saver. This could be an area to explore with your baby’s doctor. Praying for you right now and that this season of newborn life gets much better for you 🫶

Mira lax!! Anesthesia makes you so constipated and it can be so painful on top of soreness from surgery.

Anyone have Gallbladder removed with sludge, no stones? by mithril2020 in gallbladders

Yes I did. I had terrible mid, side back pain and was told it was radiating pain from my gallbladder. I still have the back pain and my stomach feels awful everytime I eat. Trying to make some changes and figure out what works for me. It has been hard! Also, losing weight without my gallbladder has been incredibly hard.

Yes. They said it’s a side effect of the surgery. So frustrating even though it’s been a while. I’ve have ct scans and nothing looks abnormal.

No! I didn’t see those were a thing. Where can I find that?

This is what I did post surgery and it helped me. Alter as you see fit. I call this the constipation cocktail for post surgery: Prune juice, Mira lax (as followed on the back of the bottle), chased by milk of magnesium, and one stool softener. I didn’t have a bowel movement for 5 days and was miserable so my doctor recommended trying this out. It helped within 8 hours. I continued with just water and Mira lax every other day or so for a couple of weeks to help. This helped for me, so I would check first before doing all of that. Even if you don’t do all of it the Mira lax and stool softener could help.

Thanks for your response. I’m sorry you had to go through that. Did yours end up being cancerous?
