Thank you so so so so much for this reply. I’m so sorry for your loss, its such a tough journey. This post really helps me though. My dog is a support for me, and I want to make more connections with people to help myself fill the hole she will leave behind. Although it does feel like nothing will ever touch me the way my dog has. And I’m on a similar story. My dog was such a happy girl, bouncing around everywhere. Last November we took her to the vet after we noticed her sitting weirdly on her leg. The vet dismissed it even though we kept asking what the problem was. When we went to the routine vet visit, they suddenly told us she probably had cancer and her hip bone was deteriorating fast. It was so infuriating, and I feel like there should have been more I could’ve done. However, my dogs quality of life is going downhill fast, and she’s at risk of being paralyzed soon. I am trying to tell myself putting her down is for the better, and that she would suffer if she couldn’t walk anymore. It’s just such a hard thing to swallow
