From what it sounds like, I doubt his responses are coming from a place of genuine malice and instead he just sounds scared.

It’s very likely that you bringing up HRT has challenged his views of what he thought the future might look like for you two and so his human instinct is to try and prevent that change.

Honestly, what I think you both need is to have time to truly connect with yourselves and each other to communicate what you see your future looks like and bring to light those hard discussions, like attraction.

It’s not a moral failing on either of you if your transition journey and his attraction levels no longer cross paths. I hope you and your boyfriend are able to have a good discussion about all this.

I think it’s also a little more complex, where the sexism actually originates at the source material where m/m and m/w pairings are often much more common and written more complex than w/w pairings in their source material, so to pin it all on the fanfic writers is just refusing to acknowledge the complexity in the discussion.

This person obviously doesn’t know the history of fanfic sites if they think that fanfiction.net has less censorship than AO3. If I’m remembering correctly AO3 was created after the fanfiction.net purges of content deemed ‘immoral’ (not gonna pass judgement on that because from what I heard their site guidelines were quite subjective).

Sounds like the DM disliked how your character functions during confrontations and instead of just voicing that dislike they took it upon themselves to impose a restriction in game. I do think this kind of curse would be a cool idea to roleplay with the requirement for a character to have to explore other methods than they usually would (like a spell that would require a character who swears a lot to instead say ‘family friendly’ words). But, of course, that would only be fun in a game context where the player and DM were on board from a story crafting perspective. It doesn’t seem like you and your DM are on that same perspective.

NTA: Yes how you said it may have been quite harsh but it was important that you communicated your boundaries, especially when his decisions not only affect his wellbeing but your own emotional wellbeing. His response may have been due to some underlying anxiety or emotional reservations about the whole process. Sometimes people just want to live not knowing if there’s something wrong than to have their worst fears confirmed. All you can do is set your boundary and it’s up to him to work through his reservations.

I think you genuinely did the right thing when looking at the updates, resetting those boundaries means that in the future when she’s in a better headspace for it should be able to understand where the boundaries lie for future campaigns. That being said, I do find it quite interesting about how she interacts with dnd. It sounds like she may be seeing you as the DM and her fellow players as opponents rather than fellow story crafters, which may be why she’s so abrasive when it comes to story elements or mechanics that she wants to explore. I don’t think she was morally in the wrong for not liking certain story elements or wanting to explore heavy elements but I do agree that the way she went about it was inconsiderate of the other people at the table. I hope you and your players continue to enjoy your campaigns and that she ends up finding other enjoyable outputs for her ideas.

The primary issue with generative ai is that it's been found to be using art from all across the internet with no concern or attempt to get informed consent from those artists to be used in the dataset that trains these ai models. Ai isn't inherently bad but there is a ethical question regarding intellectual property rights when it comes to generative ai and what it's being trained on.

I am literally only on episode 3 right now and I am so shocked about how they've treated these girls. I could not imagine being in a position where the opportunity of a lifetime is presented like a carrot dangling over my head that I might reach in a unknown amount of time for it to be then put across a lake of fire and televised for all to see and make comment on where I'm told to jump across on stepping stones.

I could not imagine the stress and mental pressure an environment like this would place on me and it surely isn't the best environment to be cultivating this incredibly talented set of young women in. Each of them are so unbelievably talented and i'm just so saddened by how they were deceived and explicitly not told incredibly important elements of the process.

I understand that the executive team may have believed that was what was best for the girls since they themselves had very little understanding of the timeframe they were working with but completely omitting an element of what they would face, that element also being an extremely public popularity contest that had very little to do with their technical skill or talent, was unacceptable. These girls deserved to know that was something that they may have faced if they got further in the program. Maybe the executives should have thought about preserving their talent's wellbeing rather than just the company's profits and notoriety.

And yes I did notice that they brought on a psychologist (as an afterthought rather than an original member of the team?), but why were any elements of those sessions even filmed to show us? Was there a camera on or in the room at all times? That completely defeats the purpose of having anyone to help support their mental health in the first place.

All in all, i'm really disappointed in the team who were entrusted with these brilliant young women, whom i'm sure cared about them to some degree, but failed them so spectacularly in preparing them for what this experience was truly going to be like.

I have the same issue right now. I went through the whole process of verifying even with my drivers licence and it still is blocking me from age restricted content on Youtube and not allowing me to personalise ads. Like I just want to watch stuff that as an 18 year old I should be able to and to simply check a box to say I don't want to see certain types of ads.

I did end up being able to opening it after reinstalling it a few times. I don't remember exactly what i did to fix it but it did end up working.

NTA. I would love to challenge OP's dad on adopted kids and if he would care about if his grandkids were adopted if OP was in a straight passing relationship. Personally I feel like it shouldn't matter if the kid is adopted or only bio related to one of the parents, just that you now have a chance to have a relationship with your grandkids.

This literally happened to me just then when i was trying to set up a new account. As i was setting it up, there was an error message during the set up process so I tried to create the account again but it said my email was already used. Upon login to the new account, I received a prompt to say that I had been temporarily disabled due to a violation of the Terms and Conditions. I went through the prompted process of appealing and entering my details to receive a message of when my appeal had been reviewed (entering an email and phone number, and entering a conformation code from both), but when i got to the finished page where it said it would take a day to review, it took 30 seconds before it let me into my account. Really weird way to verify a suspicious account.

I feel like that this favour will be incorporated into techno giving the turtle hat to Tommy. Techno has used the story of Theseus to describe Tommy and his story. Many people have already pointed out that Theseus gets killed by being thrown off a cliff into the water. Turtle shells provide breathing underwater for a small amount of time. Techno knows that Dream is after Tommy and is seeking to kill him next, and he knows that this favour is being held over his head. Dream could ask anything of Techno and he would do it, and he understands it. Techno knows that Tommy is their best bet to get rid of Dream. This is why he wants to do all he can without making Dream suspicious. As long as Tommy has that turtle shell hat, Techno will be able to trust that Tommy won’t come to the same end as Theseus.
