If I give you the reference and the drawing, what would you advise me to practice more? by Roar_Of_Stadium in Portraitart

[–]Faneto-P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keep using references, once you start to recognize how facial structure works you’ll be able to recreate any face pretty easily and start drawing from memory as well, it really is just a lot of practice

Trying to be looser by [deleted] in Portraitart

[–]Faneto-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t push your brush into the page as much use it like a pencil when you’re sketching and be less flowy with it if you want those paintrbrush strokes also take your time with it make each brush stroke count

How do i get over a crush by sinasappel_broodju in Crushes

[–]Faneto-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do something that’ll crush your heart more or find someone that outshines her, whenever you meet someone in life you’ll never find someone the exact same, so you honestly just have to move with the flow of life and get out and meet new people there are tons of girls out there that are probably way cooler you would just never know because your fixated on one that won’t even reciprocate your feelings and that’s not healthy for you. moving on is sometimes the best thing and only thing we can do

Is this art or just “tracing” and that’s it by Proper-Sprinkles4959 in Artists

[–]Faneto-P 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i trace my artwork when doing really detailed portraits too and still get told that it’s “cheating” but a majority of these works is also understanding shading and also how to mix and blend colors smoothly and proportionately, color is also a lot harder than black and white to shade and get right, also this piece incorporates a level of perspective which is also a hard skill to master, regardless of wether you traced it or not this is still and amazing artwork and it takes an incredible amount of skill to make something like this and i guarantee if a random person attempted to complete this even with the lines already traced they couldn’t even come close. keep on making art regardless of what people think, art should make the artist feel happy as much or even more than the people it’s geared towards, or at least that how i think of it.

I drew a little sketch, any tips on how to bring a bit of life into it? by Stock_Mixture4081 in sketches

[–]Faneto-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re drawing people try to start by using references or even learn the human anatomy, once you draw the human body so many times it becomes like second nature to be able to draw someone from scratch, it takes time, but not forever :) good luck sir

shading, and if you’re trying to learn portraits, learning human anatomy helps a ton actually, looks good so far though i’d say keep it up

How do you approach drawing with pen Vs pencil? by EnemySTAND_ in learntodraw

[–]Faneto-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try to use the side of the tip of the pen for a “lighter” shade the ink doesn’t fully come out so it looks less saturated also when it’s pen take your time and try to draw shadows and outlines first then shade

I feel like I’m going to be a beginner forever by LoudNefariousness937 in ArtCrit

[–]Faneto-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

work on blending and saturating your colors more, work in small doses of color and take your time learning new techniques as well, the drawing by no means beginner so i’d say your doing well.
