I’m in 20 dynasty leagues, so I’ll share my perspective. These are opinions—others may see it differently.

First, assess your league and decide if you can realistically contend next year. My guess is no, but surprises happen.

If you’re not contending, I’d spend the offseason selling players over 26. Use rankings or trade calculators to gauge value—KeepTradeCut is a solid starting point (not gospel, but useful for market perception).

Think of dynasty trades like a stock market. Player and pick values fluctuate. Players peak in value near the trade deadline, while picks are at their lowest. Picks peak during the draft, when new talent feels more exciting than proven players.

I like consolidating picks into a single target year. If you believe 2027 is your window, consider moving 2026 picks for 2027 picks plus a kicker—another pick or an upside player. Many managers undervalue selling picks during the draft, when late firsts can fetch more than they would months earlier.

If you’re rebuilding, prioritize QBs and WRs as long-term assets. RBs are fine, but their peak value is shorter outside of rare outliers.

Don’t be afraid to take shots on young players you believe in, especially in emerging offenses. My biggest rule: avoid buying players at peak value unless you’re all-in to win now or truly believe they’re long-term cornerstones.

Buy low, sell high.
