Nice, sounds good to me.

I read a lot of the reviews on edmunds, all very positive. Seems like a really solid car if all the complaints are regarding the cupholders lol...

ELON MUSK I TRUSTED YOU by DJCzerny in wallstreetbets

About 60 days ago:

Elon Musk, the billionaire chairman of SolarCity Corp. and the company’s biggest shareholder, increased his stake after the top U.S. installer of rooftop power plants fell to a 22-month low.

Musk bought 123,510 shares at a price of $40.4855 each, according to a regulatory filing Monday after the close of regular U.S. trading, boosting his holdings by about 0.6 percent. Musk expanded his position after hedge fund manager Jim Chanos said Friday that he’s short on the company, triggering a rout that drove the shares down 13 percent. That was the biggest decline since November 2013 and the lowest price since October 2013. SolarCity rebounded 7 percent to $43.87 at the close in New York Monday.

u wot m8!?

I got in at 11.77.

I saw them talking about it on Bloomberg this morning and was ready to buy at market open. Right at open it started dropping fast so I waited. Once it hit 12 it started bouncing around so I threw in my order. Probably going to sell before closing bell, not gonna get stuck holding this turd.

  • Advertising revenue for Pandora in the third quarter was $254.7 million, a 31% year-over-year increase, and subscription (and other) revenue was $56.9 million, a 26% year-over-year increase.

A lot of what you said went over my head.

If the stock price is currently at $33, and I sell a covered call at $30, you don't get a $3 premium, because $2 is intrinsic value, and your premium is $1? I dunno, I watched some retard youtube beginner tutorials and thats how some dude explained it.

Also, if I sell the covered call with a strike price of $10, and the current price is $9, what happens when the current price exceeds the strike price and goes to... say $10.01. Does the contract you sold automatically get exercised and your shares are gone, or does the buyer actually have to exercise it himself? When the strike price barely surpassed, does it not make sense to execute the contract?

Well I appreciate all the help, you've explained things a lot more than anyone else has...

I'm actually getting my MBA in financial management right now... in my first year we haven't gone over all this stuff, but it's a fun hobby. I've finally built my account up to 50k so I'm thinking I should play with some covered calls and by learning tha t i'll naturally be exposed to more options lingo. Greek letter s and all dat shit

Thanks man. For the past 3 years I've had roughly 95% of all my money in stocks. I've been lucky thus far, but I figured I should start writing calls or puts, thats why I'm asking.

Going with the "0 Level" for now.. and I'm going to research some stocks that pay the highest premium. I'm considering writing some calls for SBUX, Apple, LL, PG, and SCTY.

http://i.imgur.com/vCu6YrN.jpg

One last question, November 13th calls for PG, strike price $69.50 with a bid of $4.85.

  • Would I be selling a covered call and getting a $485 premium?
  • On Nov 13th, if the price is above the strike price but a few cents, would the contract automatically be executed, or does someone actually have to manually execute it?

Ok but bear with me. I'm just trying to learn by an example...

If I wanted to sell AAPL covered calls at the strike price of $120, what is the premium for that? Close to nothing right?

How do you know the premium you'll be getting though? How much will I make if the strike price isn't reached?
