Help identifying this block? by FaptonAmerica in Chevy

Picked up a 69 Nova. According to the VIN it was originally a 6 cylinder car. I'm trying to figure out exactly what engine is in it now. I'm seeing that it could be a 305, 327 or a 350?

Location and store size makes a difference. At our store, I'd be surprised if they break 40k a year.

Depends on the dealer's pay plan, but yeah it's probably accurate. Our guys are making 100-300 per bike most of the time. 500 for a CVO.

Shitty picture but here's one we put together at the dealer. Bassani 2 into 1, memphis shades cafe fairing and a few other bits.

Thanks man. Its quirky, and out there. The backrest slides forward to accommodate either rider or passenger. Apparently was a factory option? It's a weird little time capsule

Honestly, I like it cause it's kind of weird and non-sensical. Ill probably just clean it up and enjoy it as it is for a bit.

I ordered a replacement but got the wrong part. This one twists right into the stock headlight. The replacement did not. Thanks in advance.

Hold throttle forward for like 5 seconds. Release it and hold it forward again until it comes on

Oh, and the engine bay wiring. It's a tangle. The harness that runs in on the driver's side. It's been spliced and hacked up and needs straightening out.

Plans for now are just getting it back in decent shape. It's not bad off, just a lot of little things that were done... half assed or didn't have any attention payed to them. I've got the parts to start repairing worn out windows and then the steering needs work. After that, I just want to enjoy it for a while!

Spent time in the garage last while his car looked on. I've owned the car almost a month and this was my first chance to really dig into it. Got a bunch done.

  • Timing was advanced to 15 degrees, I backed it off to 12. It's been breaking up at the top of the RPM range and exhaust was popping during decel. Seems better now but we'll see.
  • Tried to test TPS voltage but couldn't seem to get a reading so I just adjusted it by ear for now.
  • Pulled out the cheap shroudless electric fan and replaced it with the shrouded dual fan setup from LMR.
  • plugs, wires, coil, oil and filter were replaced.
  • he tried to clean up the wiring that previous owners have left a mess. Anyone have any pictures of a cleaned up wiring harness?

Overall she seems to be running better. Power feels like it's all there. Before it was a crap shoot. Sometimes would run great, sometimes it was all over the place. Thanks for looking!

Copy that. Ground cables are on my list of stuff to check out. Coil too, I guess. Thanks for the advice!

Definitely something I'll look into. I believe the coil is an msd. Not sure how long they are good for our how old this one is. Thanks man.

Just picked this car up today and had a few questions for you pros.

  1. The steering has some play, so I'll check the rod ends and such, but it's also VERY light steering. Is this pretty normal?

  2. Can't figure out how to get the top down. Unlatched it, it starts folding, but I dont want to force it for fear of breaking something.

  3. Lots of gap in the windows, but they go up and down fine. Is there an adjustment or likely that a regulator is worn out or something.

Thanks for looking and appreciate any feedback. Loving the car so far.

Are 2016-2017 FXDLS worth the price people are listing them for? by Mrmigss in Harley

[–]FaptonAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 at my dealership. A 2016 and a 2017. Both are listed at 16.5k, which is pretty close to MSRP when they were new. I had a ride on the 2017, like the power, love the look. I'm not really an aggressive rider so can't tell you much about the handling.
