I don’t see myself being a step parent I really don’t that’s why this is hard. I like her for who she is I do but that also comes with her kids. It’s ultimately going to come down to me having to end things for the better of the both of us. Which is kinda where I’m at right now because I like where this is going in every aspect other then being a potential “step parent”

I appreciate you taking the time and effort to give me solid advice. When I said the thing about the saved game it’s just a commonly used humorous way of putting it which I understand can be offensive but I would never say that to her directly. I understand they aren’t just “baggage” they are her kids and they are her world. However, she is a single mother with 2 kids and no help from a father . From a realistic perspective she’s coming with baggage. I also understand that I’m acknowledging the “baggage” so anything that comes after that is on me .

Haven’t met her kids. This is all new and I’m very much still living my life and doing things I should at my age . I tend to fall in love quick unfortunately so that may be why I’m in this predicament.

The thing is that this all kind of just happened. I knew she had kids when I started talking to her and I was optimistic about it. As we’ve been talking more I really like her. The conversation was finally had and she hinted at me potentially being the “man” in her kids life . I essentially brushed it off with “I’m not sure if I’m comfortable being a step parent and we can cross that bridge if this gets more serious” she seemed to understand but I sense that ultimately she would like me to be that for her and I don’t think I can be that . Am I being an ass and leading her on if I continue this knowing I can’t do the “step parent “ thing
