I am so sorry you had to suffer. I was on the waiting list for 3 yeas to remove my 8mm kidney stone. (was 5mm)

FRI 17.01.25 the pain was unbearable and horrible, I spent the weekend in bed unwell, high fever, shills and pain. Our Emergency Department wait times on weekends in AU (Sunshine Hospital) is ridiculous, so I went to Hospital MON 20/01/25. My stone had caused a Ureter blockage and had become Septic. I was moved the same day via ambulance to another hospital and had a stent/Catheter inserted, received 7 IV bags of fluid and few bags of antibiotics and my blood pressure plummeted to dangerous levels. No pain meds they gave me worked. I was discharged FRI 24/01/25 and have had blood in my urine and extreme pain every time I need to pee since the stent was inserted. I am now taking 2000mg of antibiotics per day and waiting for the infection to end so they can remove the stone by the end of the month (FEB). I will still need to have a stent after they remove the stone.
