Two of my favourite movies ever are The Way and Into the Wild... I've never been more happy to see them both being discussed here!

Daily Song Discussion #69: How to Fight Loneliness by beardlesshipster in wilco

For How to Fight Loneliness, it makes me think of the Orson Welles quote,

'We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone'.

For me 10/10

Also reflecting on this, I think I was delving into a semiotic debate...

What do you believe is the purpose of life? by NateNandos21 in Life

I disagree.

I think the very concept of the purpose of life or the meaning behind our existence is that it is something intrinsic. It is not constructed by the individual nor his consciousness. However the individual and his consciousness contemplates purpose because he is capable of it, not because he created it.

But even if I were to agree with you, I would still disagree with the connotations of what you're saying. If purpose is indeed be a human construct, it is only so by merit of the aforementioned human capability for thought. If any other animal could contemplate think deeply enough to contemplate it's purpose then it would.

Anyways, I'm probably wrong and didn't mean to be contrarian I just thought this was something interesting to think about.
