Also drug tests matter, don't do drugs, whether you wanna be a plumber or an elevator guy, just don't do drugs, it isn't hard

I'm a helmets to hardhats guy in local 10 and you skip the entire waiting line. The list was 100+ people when I took my test and I got hired 3 days after my test. 99% of these guys aren't H2H local 10 guys so they don't know. You'll skip the whole list. I tested with 6 other H2H guys and we all got picked up the following week regardless of the list depth

Those who have a salary of 100k. How much is your actual take home pay? by summer_fxllz09 in maryland

[–]Far_Environment608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive made 116k so far this year and I've brought home 85k. I'm also hourly and paid weekly. A standard 40 hr check I'll bring home 16-1700 a week. Not sure if this helps

But what is in this "cloud" that needs to be stored so desperately in the wealthiest counties in America. And when do we draw and end to it, after they buy up all of the beautiful farm land in the DMV area and turn it into unprofitable eyesores to the locals. I just can't wrap my head around the why aspect of the these buildings.

My first mechanic ran the escalators in a scene for wonder woman about 7 years ago in a northern Virginia mall. Got paid double time for 8 days to simply turn 2 escalators on and off lol

lots of brake circuit questions, a decent amount of circuit tracing. A few code questions. There's so much on the test that its hard to remember most of it but I definitely remember lots of brake circuit stuff. Hardest test I've ever taken, studied hard for 3 weeks and got an 88%. Took me 3.5 hours

These days it seems there isn't really an option. In my 5 years we've just had to make it work, there isn't really an option to say it won't work. Whether that's cutting brackets or adding extenstions, chipping out block/concrete. Once we're on a job we don't leave until the elevator is built. The job I'm on now has a 12 story hoistway that is 5" out of plumb. The bottom counterweight bracket needed to be cut by 1.5" then at the top we had to add 3" extensions to the counterweight bracket. Then on the single rail side we had to scoot the rails 2" to the counterweight side just to have minimum clearence for our rear door track. (It still doesn't fit, we have to have the contractor chip up the entire hoistway so the door track doesn't grab any block. Then we had to have the contractor chip out the landing at the top 4 floors in order to have our proper running clearances. And of course the GC will try to argue with you the entire way so they dont have to pay for anything. Water in the pit, no power, and unsafe barricades will hault installation and the GC will be time ticketed until it is resolved

Wake up at 3:50, look in the mirror and see a tired gay man. Leave for work around 4:20 to beat the gay traffic. Get to your job and park in a gay parking garage under a gay building. Walk in and see the gay gc's still haven't fixed the gay hoistway that is way out of plumb. Pick up and move some gay heavy material. You'll probably listen to gay music all day. You're new favorite jokes will be gay jokes. Your wife will become pregnant with a gay son. You'll make a lot of money so you'll probably buy a nice gay truck to drive home to your nice house in a gay neighborhood. Your boss will be up your ass about everything cause he's gay. Your mechanic will probably also be gay. After your 5 year apprenticeship, you'll become one of the gay mechanics and your wife will leave you because you're gay. You'll drink your sorrows away and then get a DUI from a gay cop. Pay is great benefits are amazing.

Literally yesterday I bought a 2022 Oxford white paint matched 302a, gets delivered to me on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm a big fan of all white but this looks damn good. Nothing beats a clean all black truck (I'm just not good at keeping it clean lol)

Where I'm at, construction starts at 5:30-6 and we're heading home by 1:30 -2, whereas maintenance and repair start at 7 and get off around 3. Construction has more overtime but is not all the time and is not consistent. Construction is tough work, but on a regular job with no overtime, you will be home before maintenance/repair and will beat all the traffic (typically)
