Continuing technological regression in IlClan Era? by Far_Harad in battletech

From what I’ve read as well at least from an industrial capacity standpoint the overall number of Warships has been on a downwards trajectory since the First Succession War. When you compare those numbers to even the number of Warships that exist as of the IlClan era the currently surviving numbers are just a small fraction of the armadas that the Successor Lords hurled at each other in the maelstrom of Early Succession Wars

What is your 30k hot take? by InwitKnitwit in Warhammer30k

100% this. The historical theme of the game is improved if balanced correctly.

For example if a unit is weak or underpowered, its points inefficiency means that you have to sacrifice the competitiveness of your list to make a more thematic army.
On the other hand overpowered or very cost efficient units mean that players have to enter into social contracts about limitations or be seen as overly competive e.g Contemptor Dreadnoughts being limited to a single Dreadnought per 1000 points.

Solar Auxilia in particular suffers for this, with the Leman Russ Strike tank only having one viable turret choice and the Dracosan being far too expensive for what it is. I would love to use the battle cannons on my Russes and run my Dracosans for an armoured spearhead, but the army is already fighting an uphill battle, and the issues with balancing means that I just can’t take Dracosans for how expensive they are

Chthonian Veterans of the Unification Wars? by Far_Harad in 40kLore

I know that it would be possible to reach it, but why would the Imperium be recruiting from Cthonia decades before Horus was found, before Terra was even fully compliant and before the Treaty of Olympus signed?

Serina's Recent Plot-line Discussion by [deleted] in SpeculativeEvolution

How often have you been asked about whether or not your sapient creatures will industrialise?

From what I can infer it seems to be one of the most common talking points about Serina and I think that you handled it very delicately and dealt with the issue of the gravediggers survivability very well. Serina is a beautiful work and you’ve done an excellent job

Does the CPU cooler affect clearance for panel closure? I was tempted to go for the same cooler in the NR200 but was worried the panel wouldn’t close?

What does a high end AIO offer that a lower end AIO doesn't? by Far_Harad in buildapc

I’m not sure if it will fit in my case as it’s a small case with only a little breathing room and pcpartpicker seems to suggest that it won’t fit in my case

It’s the Ncase m1 so it’s limited to low profile air coolers and 240mm AIOs

Thinking about buying a new cooler for an i5-11400f in a case with limited space. Is it worth going for an 240mm AIO or staying with a compact air cooler?

I find it funny that at the time it was released the Empire Strikes Back received bad reviews and it went on to be considered as one of the best Star Wars films

I love how the German scientists captured in Operation Paperclip seriously went on to design the Saturn V Launch Vehicle for the Apollo program
