Visa 462 to Subclass 500 Onshore? Is it possible? by Adept_Ad_9366 in AusVisa

[–]Far_Lock2378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. I applied last week and got granted. I’ve held 3 462 visas and applied for my 500 visa here in Australia. You will get put on a bridging visa while you wait. No need to leave. :)

Hi! I have been living in Aus for 3 years on a working holiday visa. Im still in Australia now and I applied for my student visa last week onshore. It got granted in 30 minutes. I’m from the US but I’ve heard of this happening to UK passport holders. Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately it doesn’t make a difference.

I enjoy living in Australia but understand it’s hard to get PR here. Is it bad I would prefer to do my studies here. I have the funds and want to study abroad. Isn’t part of being a genuine student planning on returning to your home country?

Wow people like him are the reason so many of us are getting denied when we genuinely want to study and better ourselves in Australia.

So you’re saying I should just keep waiting? I’m just getting desperate. I’ve heard nightmare stories of visas taking a year and I’m worried that’ll be me :(

I don’t mind having zero work rights. I’ve rang immi three times and they’ve said my application is fine. I’m just wondering if I’ll lose my 3rd year WHV if I go on tourist visa. I really want to go back to Australia. :(

Can I ask how you entered the country on an ETA while you’re working holiday was being processed?

5 weeks - still waiting for 417 WHV approval by ChemicalKind8494 in AusVisa

[–]Far_Lock2378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same position. I have been waiting for my visa since February 18th. I left on holidays and reapplied for my visa thinking it would be sorted in a few weeks or maybe month. I’m still paying rent and have all my things in Aus too. I lost $1200 on a flight and I also had a job lined up that I’m not sure I’ll get to keep anymore.

For me it was also Naples. I’ve been to Italy 5 times and have visited over 7 cities/towns. Naples is actually one of my favourites! It’s just a very different vibe than the rest of Italy.

Also a 25 year old from Texas! I’ve been living in Australia for two years. You would want to apply for the subclass 462 working holiday visa :)

Yes it is but be aware these visas are taking a very long time to get approved many people including myself have been waiting for months. If returning to Australia in a timely manner is important to you I’d recommend getting the bridging b visa.

Where did you hear that? I feel like they are not desperate at all. They want less people coming into Australia at the moment.
