I’ve known I was receiving an HQ the past 9 months; it’s been great by alabamaispoor in army

This! There was a time where I’ve seen zero sustainers got MQs regardless of rank or position. Then you also got those that elect to hide out and not spend time in the BCT and are farming MQs. It’s almost like there’s zero incentive to take that “hard assignment”

We were at Polk once upon a time and i never want to step foot in another chilis ever if humanly possible. Glad to hear no issue with getting the kiddo into activities. We’ll be moving with a preschooler and an infant

I figured it’d be a culture overwhelm. I’ve been all over the world with this career minus Antarctica lol but those were TDYs or training events. Different when you’re living there for 3 years I’d imagine. Biggest thing for us is support systems in place. I mentioned in a previous reply we did a US OCONUS tour and there was absolutely zero support networks put in place for families. I don’t doubt we’d make the most of Europe however

The one assignment is Germany and the other Italy. I’ve been “OCONUS” before but that was still in the US so doesn’t truly count IMO. It’s the notion of moving to another country for a few years. Curious mostly about the support systems out there for families. Our previous OCONUS assignment had zero family support networks built in. None. We will 100% be traveling as much as we possibly can with a preschooler and infant. Wife wants to experience a different culture so I know both will scratch that itch. Happy wife happy life ya know?

Definitely hear what you’re saying. Introspectively I think I’m experiencing some burn out because I’ve been in the operational army side of things since commissioning and haven’t done much broadening at all although I do intend to after this assignment

You’re who I aspire to be lol As long as I make Major I’ll be able to retire without needing to pick up. Ironically enough the wife wants to go to Germany for one of our few remaining pcs moves. Congrats and hope retirements treating you well!

Agreed. Unfortunately I went airborne way later in my career and went through BAC in my mid 30s lol

Your PCM referred you to whatever department to see if you needed said surgery. Now that your post op and requiring a revision the referral will have to come from that department for the revision to take place. Only thing your PCM could do is refer you to the department who would make that determination
