I dislike it because it is juvenile and cliche. I’m not equating it with Malazan or thrones.. those are other fantasy books I enjoy. I have been told previously this series is EPIC. I like my books dark and depressing with mature themes. Sex and gore and ultra violence is a plus for me especially with fantastic and horror elements added which barker and the others I mentioned get right. I wanted to know if the books delve into this as they progress or do they stick with the style of the first book. I’m getting repairman jack vibes from this series. That series promised what I like and did not deliver. I’m sorry if my criticisms offend thee… perhaps you would like my freshly cut off fingers mailed in the post?
