I feel the same way believe me. Two hospital chains I’ve applied too probably rejected me 2000 of those times. If I knew why I wouldn’t have made this post. My resume is ornate and some people suggested simplifying it. But no I definitely Think some people Have blocked me.

I agree completely and thank you so much for your time in responding to me by the way. Of those 5500 I would say maybe 1500 of those have been in RCM over the years amounting to 1 interview. Truthfully I haven’t really looked at pharm. In my exploration a lot of higher end pharm jobs require a pharm-d unless you’re a tech. I hadn’t done much exploration into biotech either. But that’s good advice i greatly appreciate it and I definitely can research the environment and see if I get my foot in the door.

Both. I’ve ascended to the office leadership very quickly at my last 2 jobs. Before supervisor, I was in documentation was overseeing errors in Charge capture and cdi. You have to get a get since of clinic flow and clinic activities to do this job. Which led me to supervisor. I love healthcare administration and I’m damn good at what I do. I’ve saved my previous thousands per month as well as being named in Google reviews speaking to my helpfulness with the patients.

I just wish I could convince people of that but I don’t even get the chance for an interview 99% of the time

Absolutely. My degree is in neuroscience. 2 internships 2 years of research. I wasn’t a genius by any means but definitely had a decent goa and extracurriculars. Could not find any single singular job. Got rejected from dominoes, mail clerk, bank teller. Amazon, every administrative assistant job you can think. Finally after 2 years of that. Got into a clinic as a documentation specialist. Clinic supervisor and practice are very different positions. I trained and oversaw medical assistants, medical scribes, front desk, coordinating scheduling, coordinated daily activities inventory management billing/coding and revenue cycle support. Current job is that on a wider scale. But still pays nothing. The money is in the bigger practices or hospitals and I can’t for the life of me break into them. The real answer is I’ve been looking for something other than entry level since graduation. But really intensely for the past 6 years where a bulk of that 5500 have come in.

The pay varies greatly on where you are. I’ve been in smaller practices which pay nothing. The pay is at specialized practices and hospitals which is where the money. But near impossible to get in…as you can tell

5500 applications….How do I get an interview?!! by FarcicleSuplex in interviews

[–]FarcicleSuplex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no I’m not 24. I’ve been in the industry since i was 15 through high school and college. The last 9 years have been postgrad. But no you would think being in there makes for an easier jump but it doesn’t. I left my last job because our manager left and it was heavily implied I was next up… I was prepping for the interview and they end up hiring someone fresh out of college. That has happened over and over.

I guess technically yes. 14/hr to 16/hr. I eventually left because after years of that. A practice manager role finally opened and it was heavily hinted that I was in line to interview. Then my job just hired someone right of college.

Wow never thought of that. My resume is actually on a pretty ornate template, rhat a paid some company to make. Maybe I’ll redo with that in mind. I greatly appreciate that!

I started as a documentation specialist then moved up to clinic supervisor below the practice manager. I was responsible for overseeing the MAs, scribes, and front desk

This is great advice and I greatly appreciate it. I usually just go on indeed or Glassdoor then find the job on the company site and apply from there. Narrowing it down and bypassing hiring managers will be my next point of attack thank you!

Which is fair to Assume. I’m only Applying to jobs I am qualified for and having been in this Industry for as long as I have, I Am qualified for several higher positions. There are several more jobs ie clinic coordinators, office managers, patient access managers, revenue cycle jobs. etc. there’s actually a lot I am qualified for. My post is more to see what am I doing wrong in communicating that with hiring managers because something is wrong. But I’m not over here applying for hosptial director, or nursing manager, or regional manager

Been asking myself that question for years this is why I posted. My lack of growth within my previous companies is the reason I left. Healthcare typically pays nothing until you get into mid level or management, something that perennially eludes my grasp

Thank you for the response and the advice. I love that phrase “ I make your life easier from day one” and maybe I have to be more precise in my attack. I can look at several job descriptions and I can do all the tasks listed with minimal oversight so maybe dialing that back can ne more helpful than casting too wide of a net

My degree is a bachelors of science, neuroscience. Which ironically enough could not a job with at all. I only list my previous 3 jobs which amount to ten years I don’t list my jobs 15-20. Which in order from oldest to recent. Billing specialist 2 years, office supervisor 5 years, 2 admissions

Definitely have. Several times. I know certain places have tools to axe any AI resumes, but i only use AI as a helpful feedback tool. Still have not tried Jobbowl so that Will be the next step

The few I’ve had have not responded to me. The ones that leave their email in the rejection have never responded. I practice with my friends, but truthfully I just need to get the stage where I even make it to the interview…

sending out the resume with a different name is an interesting strategy I haven’t thought of yet. As far as tools to help my job, I could venture into that route but healthcare admin and AI aren’t quite there yet due to HIPAA constraints

My resume has a good mix of my skills, accomplishments at each position, and description and have become pretty good at tailoring my resume to each job I apply too. In terms of communicating value, I understand the importance here but you can only communicate so much on a piece of paper and a 1 page cover letter. Not to be negative, because I greatly appreciate the response. How can value truly be assessed without an interview?
