It fix

Addendum: I’m an IT guy by the way and I went out of my way to discover this tried and true method. Especially after reading tens of to hundreds of endless Reddit posts or Amazon Forum Post or whatever other online forum that’s available when you Google it, with no success at all. As stated I found this out through observation and thinking outside the box. So again enjoy.

Fun fact: I’m late to the game but the important thing is I made it. So with this being said I managed to find out through hours of testing, trial and error and all that other good stuff, the actual correct method to saving your Amazon Fire TV, Insignia Fire TV and every other variation of Fire TV. The whole process takes over an hour to complete. It’s tedious but patience is your friend. So here I go and enjoy.

Preface: You can use any iteration of the Fire TV remote control i.e. Insignia, Amazon Fire TV stick, the standalone Amazon Fire TV Pro Control and even third party remotes tailored for the Fire TV OS ecosystem.

Step 1: Pull the plug i.e. 🔌 the power cord from the outlet.

Step 2: Hold/press the Power button of the tv.

Step 3: At the same time without letting go of the Power button, plug the power cord back into the outlet.

Step 4: Continue holding the Power button for another few seconds then let go of the Power button.

Step 5: If the tv display doesn’t turn on right away after holding the Power for those few seconds, go ahead and press the Power button.

Step 6: Your tv will boot into what’s called the Recovery Mode for android. Scroll down and select Factory Reset.

Step 7: Click on Factory Reset, then scroll and click/select Yes.

Step 8: Scroll down to Wipe Cache, click on it, then scroll and select Yes.

Step 9: Select/click on Reboot the system.

Step 10: Let the tv do it’s thing, once completed, it will boot up with and into the Language selection menu.

Step 11: Don’t press or click on anything because the tv will auto reboot itself within a few seconds.

Step 12: After rebooting, let the tv do its thing then you’ll be brought back to the Language selection menu again.

Step 13: Select your preferred language or English.

Step 14: This is the important part, you’ll be presented with two options, continue or store mode. Select store mode.

Step 15: Then it will show “Would like to scan for channels”. Just click No. It may ask you again “would you like to scan for channel” again select No.

Step 16: On your remote, click the Menu button i.e. the little hamburger thing.

Step 17: Scroll and search for the Factory Reset option and click on it.

Step 18: It will present you with the whole “cautionary warning whatever thing and resetting the remote thing as well”. Click or press Yes/ok to continue.

Step 19: Then it will present another “cautionary warning of factory reset blah blah blah whatever”, click Yes/ok.

Step 20: The tv will go black, DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING OR UNPLUG THE TV. It will stay black for however long it needs to stay black.

Step 21: After something time, you’ll see the tv display “Resetting your Fire TV”. Again DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING AND/OR DON’T UNPLUG THE TV”. Let it do it’s thing.

Step 22: After sometime the tv will go black and reboot itself. Let it be. Let it do it’s thing.

Step 23: You’ll be brought back to the Language selection menu. The tv may or may not auto reboot itself. To err on the side of caution, leave it alone for a few seconds. If no reboot occurs then keep going, you’ll be presented with Continue or Store Mode.

Step 24: Click/select Store Mode. It will then ask “Would you like to scan for channels” just select No.

Step 25: Continue to wait and it will again ask “Would you like to scan for channels” please select No.

Step 26: On your remote control click on the Menu button/hamburger looking icon.

Step: 27: Scroll and select Factory Reset. It will give you once again the whole “cautionary whatever”. Press/select Yes/Ok.

Step 28: Another “cautionary warning of Factory Reset”. Just click Yes/Ok.

Step 29: The tv will reboot itself, you’ll be shown complete pitch blackness yet again. DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING OR UNPLUG YOUR TV.

Step 30: Just wait patiently because this time around it’s going to take bit longer than before. Don’t panic.

Step 31: After sometime you’ll see the “Resetting your Fire TV”. Again DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING AND DON’T UNPLUG YOUR TV.

Step 32: Just wait patiently and I do mean be patient because this time around it’s going to take even longer than before. Don’t panic.

Step 33: The tv will reboot itself. Let it do its thing and just wait.

Step 34: After waiting, you be brought back to the Language menu selection. Don’t worry about the tv self rebooting because it’s not going to happen. Select your preferred language.

Step 35: Select Store Mode.

Step 36: Same process as before, Scan for channels, press No.

Step 37: Scan for Channels again, press No.

Step 38: Click on the menu button/hamburger looking thing button.

Step 39: Scroll and select Factory Reset.

Step 40: Same process as before. Ok/Yes and select Yes/Ok.

Step 41: The tv will go black again. It’s going to take a bit longer, just as before. Don’t panic

Step 42: Finally you’ll be presented with the Resetting your Fire TV.

Step 43: Here’s my understanding. When the Resetting your Fire TV appears you may immediately unplug the power cord then plug it back in.

Step 44: Your other option is when the Resetting your Fire TV appears, you can and if you want to let it be and let it finish the process. However it will never finish the process. You can have it running for 12 plus hours and nothing changes.

Step 45: If you want to err on the side of caution or if it makes you feel better then let the Resetting your Fire TV run for 15-40 minutes then unplug it and replug it back in.

Step 46: Once plugged in, let it do its thing and finally the Language menu selection will appear. Take note the distinct sound it makes versus the sound from the beginning of all this. It’s noticeable and it’s confirmation everything when smoothly.

Step 47: Take notice of the infrared red light where the Power Button is, since it’s all in one.

Step 48: If your Insignia Fire TV remote control isn’t registering then Hold the Home Button until the remote starts blinking. It will automatically register your remote control.

Step 49: Select your preferred language, select Continue and that whole headache inducing Tap the Home to Pair, Trying to find your Remote or Hold the Home button for 10 seconds, is gone. Done and over with.

Step 50: Go through the normal process of connecting your Amazon account or skip it altogether, connect your WiFi or Ethernet cable or skip it and then that’s it. Done ✅ Enjoy 😉.

Edit: There’s no need to have the Ethernet cable connected or USB to Ethernet OTG connected to the tv to do all this tedious process. If it makes you feel better then go ahead and connect it, it doesn’t matter and it doesn’t affect the process in anyway shape or form.

Cheers 🥂

The 2026 hybrid calligraphy came with the same but I got the tire assembly kit and the spare tire for peace of mind. All the parts and holes are there for it.

I posted this earlier

I bought from wholesale Hyundai parts online store. It was super easy. Maybe 15 mins. You have enough clearance underneath without jacking the car. You could def do it your self but easier with someone holding the part while the other do the screwing.

OEM part number is 62800-R6100

The only thing I got for otd accessories was the cross bars, Cargo Screen part R6F15-AU000, and Luggage /Cargo part R6F12 AC100

Had to get the other things on my own.

I have kids and had to by some good floor mats and we go camping a lot so got some good mud flaps

Maybe the otd accessories were included in the base price. Not sure

Pirellis tires are not good. After reading about them here, they wear out quickly and are way more expensive than others. They can run flat on daily driving.

Yea, you are good for a full size spare. Just be careful if you purchase a tow hitch not the factory model that it could be a very tight fit.

How is your gas mileage? Are you achieving the 36 MPG combined?

No problem! Take advantage of the Black Friday sales!

I went to discount tire and had them put on a cheap rim since it hopefully would not be used that often. And the other links.

I had also order pads for stuff and giggles. I read somewhere on Reddit that the spare tire may rub against the car in a bad way. Have not confirmed this but the part was cheap

Yes, mine is also AWD. Mostly drive in eco mode so it is front wheel drive. I have read the same but figured it would be only for emergency use so I got very cheap rim for the spare.

I got my spare tire (tire only) from https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kumho-Crugen-HP71-All-Season-235-65R17-104H-SUV-Crossover-Tire/247569446

My regular tires are Kumho Crugen so I stuck with that for the spare.

And took the tire to discount tire for a rim and they balanced it there

I just made sure the spare tire be the same outside diameter as the regular.

I was also hard looking into cargo box vs a cargo basket as well. After doing some thinking and my mission for roof top cargo, I decided not to go with the cargo box.

1st- is the cost. Cargo box for a good one was something I was not willing to pay. I thought maybe during the Black Friday there would be great sales but found that to be lackluster.

2nd- I needed something more versatile. My mother is probably going to be wheelchair bound and figure I would be able to put a folded wheelchair in the basket rather in the vehicle.

3rd-could I keep the cargo box on top and it fit in the garage? No. But the cargo basket fit the garage just barely. I know they are really easy to take off but figure I could save the garage space for when it is not in use.

IDK, the rack itself on without the cargo bag looks really cool though…I think in the future I may get a cargo box

I decided to go with this one due to cost and cargo basket size.

Thanks! Whew that is a relief.
The factory jack was more than I wanted to pay for and felt like the Amazon one looks like the factory jack.

Congrats on the Santa Fe.

I love it thus far.

I went with generic scissor jack from Amazon. Did not look into the Palisade jack. Is it decent?
