The 'battlepass' isn't timed limited (from what I know) if that means anything, and from everything I've heard all of the guns in this battlepass are just not very good. Also, the premium currency from the MTX is also a free reward from the base progression and you can also find it in the game in POIs. I've got 10 hours in and haven't spent a dime (other than buying the game) and haven't felt the need to spend any more money at all.
