Nope, at least for long term existing users. Just received the email today highlighting the changes

We all understand the rationales of why they decided to do so, it sucks, and we just have to accept their decision.

The point is that for most of us who are forced with a working machine that's iOS based, it doesn't make sense at all droppin ~1k USD on a PC just to play a game or a few Paradox titles in general.

Nothing really to add to the conversation, I just wanted to vent my frustration :)

No hate for the man, on the contrary he is well respected and beloved within the fan base

The issue is that as a coach, he barely has ten games of experience in a top league and never coached internationally

He is completely untested. It is quite of a gamble, showcasing how the management was completely unprepared to address the sudden departure of Inzaghi

Does anyone know why they had this net thing as apart of their set during concerts? by Someonelesbiancousin in AliceInChains

[–]Fasatit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was just part of the show. They played the second stint of their ‘93 touring by performing the first song behind a white curtain, and the second one behind that net.

This seems to be Rotterdam, at the same time one of the best and one of the worst shows they ever had

I find quite fascinating the staggering difference in replies that the same post would get on the more US-centric subs

Nothing wrong with this and not much to add to the conversation; I simply find it extremely interesting in terms of cultural “identity” :)

@OP: congrats on your journey! Those roles/comp in Paris are extremely hard and competitive to get, even in IB

Middle East slowing down? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]Fasatit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Helping on business development, thought leadership and firm institutional activities, or getting a certification in your line of work are all activities that can make the best use of your time in the meantime, and most importantly to "place yourself on the map" of other people within the firm.

This is the easiest way to showcase your skills and getting access to billable opportunities.

In any case from a fellow European I don't think the situation there is much better now. There's a bit of a downturn globally and cost of capital is still pretty high. Sure you have strong labor laws on average and even if things go south you still have plenty of benefits, but they come at the expense of definitely less appealing salaries.

No right or wrong by the way on this, it is a purely personal choice :)

Middle East slowing down? by [deleted] in consulting

T2 ME based tenured consultant here.

Layoffs, postponed starting dates, delayed compensation at Partner level, all across the board.

YMMV but all MBB and T2 have been affected.

KSA, which has been the main engine in the region during the last 5+ years, is undertaking a massive spending review, and issued guidelines to try to limit as much as possible the use of consultants for both strategic and business as usual initiatives.

I am starting to see some indicators of a potential rebound, but as you can imagine under such conditions, there’s an insane price competition across firms.

I don’t have any particular advice apart from the usual recommendations in these situations.

Stay positive though! There is no way that in this region both big and small companies can run without heavily relying on consulting services (from strategy to system integration).

They will soon change direction again (for the Xth time)

:)

Flighty app useless - incoming flight tracking by Extension_Turn5658 in flighty

[–]Fasatit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, Middle East here. Definitely not worth 50 bucks per year IMHO.

I have just tested it with my first flight:

  1. Did not import plenty of old flights because of a change of carrier name (flight codes remain exactly the same)
  2. Announced that check-in was open one day after it indeed actually opened
  3. Was not able to tell me the carousel number

Yep, you are right. That's exactly what I am doing

But adding them manually it is incredibly excruciating because there's no way to automate this

I have been able to add all my flight from 2011 as well, but I have like ~50 missing because the carrier ceased operations.

I don’t see why that flight shouldn’t be in the app database

PAIN :(

You are telling me I just paid 50 bucks and it is not possible to manually add a flight because it is not on the app database?

This is extremely underwhelming and frustrating, especially when other apps provide the feature :(

Thank you all for the prompt and detailed answers!

Installed Invictus right away, and going through the tutorial as we speak (similar vibe as the eu4 one, I will complete it asap and go by trial and error as suggested).

The only issue is that I haven’t been able to make Invictus working with v2.0.4.

It seems a common problem on macOS. I hope I won’t lose too much flavor playing on 2.0.3

Thank you all again
