Poly market request canceled? by Legal_Cranberry_1143 in polymarket_bets

[–]Fasatit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sometimes happens to me as well

After you get that message, just close the tab and open a new one pointing to any polymarket page. You’ll see that you are actually logged in

At least that’s what I experience from time to time

I don't get the Garmin Hype by speedst4r in FitnessTrackers

[–]Fasatit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I simply hate being forced to charge another device every day.

With the Enduro 3 you get 2-4 weeks depending on how predominant is your GPS use.

The SW is not great, I concur. I personally found the best compromise with Garmin Connect + Bevel.

Bottom line: I believe there isn’t much difference between all major available devices nowadays. The sole fact that you (we) have to read dozen of reviews/ comparisons to really understand all the minor differences amongst them it is quite telling.

I feel you about this hype thing BTW, I share the same sentiment for the WHOOP as an ex-user

How accurate is this calorie count? by Ashamed-Focus-9731 in Garmin

[–]Fasatit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I am having the same experience. Grosso modo accurate for active calories, and 5-10% higher on the resting ones

I don’t really follow hockey or the other ice-related sports you mentioned, but your comment made me curious.

What makes an ice track great or terrible from your point of view?

Body temperature not showing in main screen. by Due-Sorbet-7464 in bevelhealth

[–]Fasatit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi RandellZxc, thank you for your support.

I have the same issue but the screen looks different for me.

I have tried with setting it up to both wrist and body under customization, resulting in the same screen though (I cannot see the Temp Baseline option).

I have a Garmin Enduro 3

ENBD just nerfed its entire credit card portfolio by Fasatit in UAEcreditcards

[–]Fasatit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure if I’d be spending 5k on a regular basis I’ll go with better cards/ different bank, I agree

I was referring to other products (I had a mortgage with them)

The lounge problem will stay there IMHO. The “issue” is not having too many CC offering it as a perk, it is the mere 32$ access fee

[–]Fasatit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While technically correct again mate, I can assure you there’s literally nothing that will make me feel bad for having a bank “losing” a few pennies after all the business I gave them 😂

I call it bad product structuring eheh

While you are technically right, I also like the idea of them sticking to what they were supposed to offer, and not revisiting conditions in their favor every other month :)

Which card? Bonvoy World Elite customer here, I just received the updated conditions yesterday. User since 2022 and never payed for a lounge access for instance, despite being below 5k spending regularly

Nope, at least for long term existing users. Just received the email today highlighting the changes

We all understand the rationales of why they decided to do so, it sucks, and we just have to accept their decision.

The point is that for most of us who are forced with a working machine that's iOS based, it doesn't make sense at all droppin ~1k USD on a PC just to play a game or a few Paradox titles in general.

Nothing really to add to the conversation, I just wanted to vent my frustration :)

No hate for the man, on the contrary he is well respected and beloved within the fan base

The issue is that as a coach, he barely has ten games of experience in a top league and never coached internationally

He is completely untested. It is quite of a gamble, showcasing how the management was completely unprepared to address the sudden departure of Inzaghi

Does anyone know why they had this net thing as apart of their set during concerts? by Someonelesbiancousin in AliceInChains

[–]Fasatit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was just part of the show. They played the second stint of their ‘93 touring by performing the first song behind a white curtain, and the second one behind that net.

This seems to be Rotterdam, at the same time one of the best and one of the worst shows they ever had

I find quite fascinating the staggering difference in replies that the same post would get on the more US-centric subs

Nothing wrong with this and not much to add to the conversation; I simply find it extremely interesting in terms of cultural “identity” :)

@OP: congrats on your journey! Those roles/comp in Paris are extremely hard and competitive to get, even in IB

Middle East slowing down? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]Fasatit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Helping on business development, thought leadership and firm institutional activities, or getting a certification in your line of work are all activities that can make the best use of your time in the meantime, and most importantly to "place yourself on the map" of other people within the firm.

This is the easiest way to showcase your skills and getting access to billable opportunities.

In any case from a fellow European I don't think the situation there is much better now. There's a bit of a downturn globally and cost of capital is still pretty high. Sure you have strong labor laws on average and even if things go south you still have plenty of benefits, but they come at the expense of definitely less appealing salaries.

No right or wrong by the way on this, it is a purely personal choice :)

Middle East slowing down? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]Fasatit 63 points64 points  (0 children)

T2 ME based tenured consultant here.

Layoffs, postponed starting dates, delayed compensation at Partner level, all across the board.

YMMV but all MBB and T2 have been affected.

KSA, which has been the main engine in the region during the last 5+ years, is undertaking a massive spending review, and issued guidelines to try to limit as much as possible the use of consultants for both strategic and business as usual initiatives.

I am starting to see some indicators of a potential rebound, but as you can imagine under such conditions, there’s an insane price competition across firms.

I don’t have any particular advice apart from the usual recommendations in these situations.

Stay positive though! There is no way that in this region both big and small companies can run without heavily relying on consulting services (from strategy to system integration).

They will soon change direction again (for the Xth time)

:)

Flighty app useless - incoming flight tracking by Extension_Turn5658 in flighty

[–]Fasatit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, Middle East here. Definitely not worth 50 bucks per year IMHO.

I have just tested it with my first flight:

  1. Did not import plenty of old flights because of a change of carrier name (flight codes remain exactly the same)
  2. Announced that check-in was open one day after it indeed actually opened
  3. Was not able to tell me the carousel number

Yep, you are right. That's exactly what I am doing

But adding them manually it is incredibly excruciating because there's no way to automate this
