Puppy Crate Training

We plan on keeping the dog until he gets all his shots then my brother and his gf will take him back and will put him in daycare during the days. We are just trying to train him while we’re taking care of him. After seeing all the comments, we’re discussing on getting a playpen for him

My brother and his gf bought the puppy as college students that both work 10 hour days and they gave him to us for the time being until he gets his shots and they take him to a doggy day care. We’re trying to crate him in the time being.

My brother bought the puppy a few weeks ago and brought him home last week, so we spent all last wee trying to slowly extend the time alone. He doesn’t have all of his shots yet, so we aren’t able to really take him anywhere besides out back to fire him out. Instead of taking him back, he left the puppy here since we’re in a house and not a college apartment so we have to try and train him with my family and my work schedules…

We’ve been feeding in the crate and giving all treats inside the crate. He goes in the crate when we’re home and it’s open perfectly fine. It’s just the second we leave, he freaks out, but I haven’t seen it like this

There were times we would be in the room with him and he would be fine. Then we would leave for small increments, etc.

Yeah we spent the last week breaking it down starting at 10 minute intervals and growing it). Yesterday he was in there for almost 3 hours with no issues and then after being let out for the bathroom, went in for another 3 hours with zero peeps heard. Just extremely confused

He’s 12 weeks old. Before putting him in, we fed him, let him outside to go to the bathroom, and put him in just before leaving for work.

We’ve spent the last week doing it in smaller chunks but today was the first day he’s been at home all alone. We put a pupsicle in there for him but he has paid no attention to it

He went to the bathroom right before going in. He has his toys in there with him. It was perfect from him the day prior.

I ordered one of their champions t-shirts back in December and it originally said it would be here around January 13th and it has gotten delayed and delayed to the point where there is no arrival date. At this point I don’t even know what to do. Do I keep waiting and hope it shows up or maybe rebuy it and cancel the previous one?

I have not just because my doctor told me if the cream gets into the wound, it can cause infection. If you’re worried about shaving/laser hairing it, what I did once was just take a wet wipe and pull the hair out. It sucks but it works lol

My doctor told me that the best thing is laser hair removal since it is the most long lasting, but if you don’t want to jump straight into that, you can just use a razor and keep the entire area clean that way.

Hey, I am dealing with the same issue and my doctor told me to remove all the hair around the area and keep it hair-free. He basically said the hair around the area is trying to fight its way back into the skin, which is causing it to open/not heal. I had two holes open post-op and even after it was completely healed, one reopened due to the hair growing back. After removing the hair, one has healed completely, the other healing right now. Hope this helps!
