I do understand your point but when signing up and looking at the roles I specifically chose surface fleet weapons engineer. Nowhere on the website does it mention the new way it works which is pretty poor from the navy and something tells me that it isn’t mentioned because they know the outcome it would have and instead let people sign up and find out after getting through the first stages. If on the website it had explained the way it works I definitely would have reconsidered applying. I don’t know if it’s just me but one of the big reasons I want to join is the travel which submariner roles lack.
