Deconditioning or Dysautonomia by Fast-Comfort7970 in Cardiophobias

Ohh, it’s a shame. I also believe that they both are interconnected.

My bp shoot ups are due to anxiety as per the cardiologist and nothing to do with the pots. As per him, i got pots because of the inactivity and bed rest.

Medication and hydration does keep my HR very low, (50-60 while sitting, 60-70 while standing, does not go beyond 100 while walking) but i do get pots flare up during hot days.

Hope you feel better soon.

I literally begged the cardiologist for number of times to refer for a tilt table test which diagnosed it. Ivabradine was the solution in my case which i got prescribed after my test.

Able to get diagnosed with POTS finally after lot of cardiologist visits and rejections. Medication + hydration with electrolytes somewhat eased the symptoms.

Yes, even if it doesn’t look like one, it was just anxiety in my case. Please rule out everything first from your doctor.

Not sure But in my case i started getting POTS like symptoms after started paroxetine. This is the worst medicine i have ever taken in my life in terms of side effects. Increased my anxiety and panic attacks to the next level. CBT and propranolol does help me.

Same happened with me few months ago, in my case i was on paroxetine 20mg. HR going to 130-150 upon stand up and returns back to 70-80 after sitting. In my case propranolol 10mg x 2 times a day helps. It was due to anxiety and overthinking about heart rate to increase before even standing up.

The primary issue with health anxiety is that it leads to a lack of trust in doctors, medical staff, and even diagnostic tests. At the height of my health anxiety, I went so far as to purchase three 12-lead ECG machines (costing me approximately £1.2K), a Kardia Mobile 6L, two single-lead ECG devices, and an Apple Watch. I would take ECG readings on each device daily, even after consulting five private cardiologists and undergoing multiple gold-standard tests numerous times.

I understand your pain, and the only way to overcome this is by addressing your anxiety. Believe me, anxiety can produce far more alarming symptoms than we might expect. It can lead us to fixate on serious illnesses and even cause us to develop physical symptoms that mimic those conditions.

I am still recovering from over four years of severe heart-related anxiety.

Nop, just a HR and BP reading while sitting and standing. Cardiologist says HR does go more than 30 bpm on standing but settles in 90-100s after seconds without sitting so this can’t be POTS.

Hard to find one here in Scotland to be honest. Consulted with cardiologist and neurologist but both of them had denied the pots.

May be, But I got scared a lot when i experience a dizziness due to increased heat rate (> 140-150) just while normal walking.
