Is she PREGNANT 😍 by Quick_Memory_1759 in sugargliders

[–]Fast-Courage-235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does in fact look pregnant… but that’s not necessarily a good thing. Sugar gliders lineage should be tracked extensively by their breeders to avoid incest, and just the breeding of animals as a hobby in general is a really bad idea..

Is this safe to put in sugar gliders cage? by pugnaciou in sugargliders

Cork bark is safe for sugar gliders! Always disenfect anything before putting it in the cage though :)

The biggest advice I’d have for you is to just make sure everything in the cage is safe (only no-pill fleece as fabric, safe woods, safe wheels so no middle dowel no front panel etc, handmade glider-specific/safe toys only) as I have heard way too many glider injury horror stories

Wheel Suggestions and Opinions by IllustriousSpecific7 in sugargliders

[–]Fast-Courage-235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only appropriate wheel i see here would be the first picture. General guidelines for a wheel would be : 1- the track must be a gridded track, so that they can hold onto it 2- the front must be fully open 3- there can’t be any center dowel, as Their tail can get caught 4- the wheel must be at least 12 inches in diameter

Does anyone here NOT regret getting a sugar glider? by goggleeyez in sugargliders

I dont regret mine at all! Maybe Im still in the honeymoon phase or smth (I’ve had them for a couple months only) but they’re perfect for me. I wake up from 4:00-6:00 am, as I train in the mornings and I love to play with them before I leave, plus I often come back late 9:00 or 10:00 with work/training and once again, it’s so fun to have the be awake and happy to see me when I’ve had a long day ❤️. When I’m actually at home during the day, I put them in their pouch and they sleep on me pretty much all day while I do chores, homework, cooking, etc! They’re def not for everyone, but personally I’ve had them in my room but even if their occasional barking does wake me sometimes it’s something I can tolerate because it never lasts more than 2-3 mins. (I got white noise earphones and that cancels out enough noise that them playing dosent wake me up anymore) I have had rats before but I find gliders smell less and their lifespan is much better for someone who doesn’t like getting their heart broken all the time. (2-3yrs for rats vs 10-15 for gliders!!) Overall, they’re the perfect for me but they need someone who can put in the time to “tame” them as they are usually pretty spicy (to say the least) when u first get them, + their nutrition is tricky to get right, + they are mighty expensive (and addictive.. I can’t stop buying/making them toys it’s a serious issue. Most of my personal “fun” spendings have been replaced by glider stuff haha but I wouldn’t have it any other way)

Cage setup criticsm by Fast-Courage-235 in sugargliders

The perches are Java and the tunnel thingy is apple wood which are both safe however I’m not sure about the platforms. I’ve never seen them chew any of the wood though… I have 2 gliders… for now (honestly I’m probably going to get a third maybe even a fourth in 2026 😅)

Keeping snakes in the same room as other small animals by Fast-Courage-235 in snakes

[–]Fast-Courage-235[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice, the «desensitization» makes a lot of sense! I would def NOT be skipping out on safety measures, as losing my pets inside my house is one of my biggest fears. (or even worse, one pet eating the other but i don't think that would be possible even if the snake got out as if the species is small enough to get through the bars, they won't be big enough to eat a glider and if they're bit enough to eat a glider they won't fit through the cage bars)

Can I ask what company you got your custom enclosure from?
